What is the maximum number of loan players that we can have in a season?
Would selling Kodjia be such a loss to the team?

Can have up to 8 players in squad signed on loan

5  loan players permitted to  be in the team on the pitch at anytime.

Can sign on loan up to 4 from any one parent/specific club in squad .

However can not have more than 2 players on loan over 23 years old when signing from one specific /parent club .

Loans can sign up to 31st August

Bruce said he should play next week

Tho I'm sure we had a bit of that last season and it didn't come true

I share others concerns about Kodjia tho

picking up an injury and withdrawing from the last pre-season kick-about is usually a euphemism for being sold. In Kodjia's case, it probably means the ankle injury still hasn't fully cleared up which is very distressing - the guy was the dog's nuts - despite his selfishness at times - in his first season with us.

Or it means he's injured and will be fit for Hull, like the manager suggested.

Except that it never happens.

that may or may not be true - but I actually said it was because he was injured.

Sadly I think he's done a Bent/Kozak and that the injury has done for him. Really hope i'm wrong but he just hasn't looked even close to being the player he was.

Unfortunately I think you're right. He's hasn't looked anywhere near as sharp, and he seems to always be picking up knocks now.

Bloody hell, no wonder we were sometimes confused at selections last year with all that to bear in mind....even have to check who’s on pitch when puttingvsuns on to see if we were still compliant

Quite often when a player has the sort of injuries he had they need a run of games to finish their recovery. Delph is a great example, he looked awful for about 18 months because he just couldn't get match fit. Whether they properly make it back all depends on their determination to succeed after that. I suspect Kodjia will struggle for 5-6 games at the start of the season but what happens after that is the point where we can see if he is 'done for'.  If he breaks down again or he 'hides' then we'll have to look at how to replace him, but I hope he'll step it up and be the player we saw 18 months ago.

It always used to take benteke ages to get back from a bad injury

Boro are set to make a bid for Jonathan Kodjia . That's interesting I reading. Villa would need two strikers if letting him go would need adequate replacements

So vs hull

Was he somewhat disinterested)?
Didn't find him performing and was lucky to be there for so long in pitch time.

From handballs to lack of hold up and the usual greed to not pass to elmo his play all round was lacking

Bruce said after that Kodija getting back into things playing wise after a long day off.

It's a tricky one though as JK needs a goal and some form but he playing without

I certainly would hope have some more striker options in as can't seem reliable to be effective at this moment .

That said he's a very capable player so hope he turns around and keeps working hard.

I watched Kodjia against hull and was reminded that even in his first season, we just couldn't make the ball stick up front - especially away from home

Then I watched grabban play for forest and repeatedly offer a target for his midfield and keep the ball. Proving that it's a crucial role even when you're playing the ball on the deck

Even if Kodjia gets back to his best he's still going to be unreliable in doing that and he's still going to do stupid things like try and beat his man rather than play elmo in for a one on one

Getting someone in who can lead the line will be crucial for is this season, unless Davis can rediscover his form and learn to score goals

Quite how we spent nearly £40m on strikers, none of whom can play with their back to goal, is absolutely ridiculous

buying Kodjia wasn't ridiculous, buying Hogan and McCormack was.
