I think I'll leave my post, whatever you think. Bruce's musings on how to use Kodjia make me laugh when he is baffled by our not winning because he set the team up as he did for the playoff final.

Didn't Kodjia finish on 19 goals under Bruce in his first season?

sssh, that wasn't down to Bruce obviously

Yeah Kodjia is a funny one

In a shit team two years ago that unpredictable talent was a blessing

I'm not convinced he wouldn't have made our style more difficult this last season. Still better than Hogan though

Still might prefer Kodjia wide in a 433 where his erratic hold up play is less of a problem

But he's clearly a real talent

Been a shadow of the player we saw in his first season, but that is understandable given his injury problems.  I think if he were to go up a level, he would have to play as a wide forward as I’m not sure he has the all-round game to be a striker in the top flight.  I think he would do well in a front two, with a forward who would act as a focal point and allow him to work the channels and try and get in behind.  I would have liked to see us towards the end of the season field a front three with Grabban and Kodjia either side of Davis, as I think that would have given us a real threat up top.

Choice between selling Kodjia or Grealish  sell Kodjia any day of the week.

Keep both. Dr Xia needs to ensure that. Although I think his interest in the club is diminishing fast.....that statement doesn't give me any confidence in him at all.

And it helped us to a fantastic 13th place finish.  Let's have more of that shall we?

What is the logic of your argument? That because we had a shit season two years ago there was nothing of any merit in it? Or that anything of merit was despite the manager?

Yes and while we're at it, let's not acknowledge Adomah's 15 goals because we didn't go up.

We need a striker to hit 20 goals. We've seen before the dangers of trading in your best forward in the hope of sprinkling his fee thinly amongst your squad.

I'd be getting rid of Hogan first, although I doubt that will be possible.

I think we're in a time where the fees that we paid for players are secondary to the commitment we have in terms of wages.  Personally, I think £2 million for either or both McCormack or Hogan would be good business because neither are worth £2 million to us right now.  The saving in wages for the pair of them would be significant.

Even at £2 million though, we would probably struggle to shift them and neither player would take a drop in wages so we're stuck with both.

Sadly, we are in a position where our only real sellable players are the ones we want to hold onto: Kodjia, Jack, Chester, Elmo & Albert.

I'm not sure we'd get a great deal for Elmo to be honest.

It's not about the money in, it's about shaving the wage bill.
