I met Jon today. He was at West Mid Custom cars having his Bentley "dirtied" up in that rustic colour. Nice young man. Speaks a little  bit of English enough for us to have a conversation. He is off to France on Friday driving over and then joining his national squad. So I thanked him for his goals but reminded him that he could do a little better with his head specially when Bunn goal kicks and also the offside thing. He said " yeh coach tells me everyday". Again a very nice young man.

Haha! You gotta love him (dancing at home in his Villa shizzle) https://www.instagram.com/p/BOdByUMhQfU/?taken-by=jimydanger&hl=en
https://www.instagram.com/p/BOc-iEXBZWo/?taken-by=jimydanger&hl=en Merry Christmas!

Very good. It could only be bettered if it was an instagram of him reading up on the offside rule.

You must have been listening to me at the game on Monday. One in particular as he was looking across the line was idiotic.

Crickey! Disappointed the dancing video hasn't done the trick in the Christmas cheer department, how's about this? Merry Christmas & UTV

Great idea to recreate a classic Villa goal.
Rudy might find the European Cup winning one a more natural goal to copy.
Only messin'!

in their match report of the Leeds game, The Guardian were predicting  he'd be off in he summer, with or without promotion. I hope they are wrong.

After last night, they may wish to re-evaluate that statement.

Kodjia is increasingly becoming a question mark for me, in as much as where to play him.  He just isn't strong enough to play as an out and out striker.  In the 15 minutes or so that Rudy was on last night, he did more damage than Kodjia had done in the previous 75 minutes.

If Kodjia is definitely leaving in the summer, I can't see it being to join another English side.

The only real position that I can see for Kodjia is the wide player in a 433.  He did well playing off Rudy last night but Bruce rarely plays 442, it is more likely to be 433 or 4411.

Kodjia's case isn't helped by our reluctance to get men forward.  Last night, Leeds as the away side were committing bodies forward more than we were.

Whilst I am very pleased with Kodjia, he does have limitations, which explains partly why he is at the peak of his career and only playing at this level.

According to da Beebs stats, the Grauniad is the most accurate newspaper for transfers

I disagree with this bit, I thought Kodjia was very dangerous in those 15minutes and Gestede was a bit peripheral.  However having him there to occupy defenders and give them different threat to worry about gave Kodjia the space he'd been struggling to find, he missed a couple of decent chances to square for RM and had a 1on1 saved in that little spell as well as the penalty after an hour before that of being crowded out by 2-3 defenders every time he got the ball.

Like many before him, I honestly think he will not play for a bigger club than Aston Villa

It's not really The Guardian knowing anything, it's the bloke doing their Liveblog filling a bit of space.

"90 min “New York-based villa fan here,” says David Bertram. “Woeful. Surely middle of the road Premiership teams will be looking at Kodjia soon?”

And as I paste that, he breaks into the box after playing a one-two off Gestede and skirting Jansson on his inside. But the ball bounces up for him and he’s forced to shoot from an unnatural position, allowing Green to dive in front of him and take one on the chest.

As for Kodjia, he’ll be off if Villa don’t go up and perhaps even then. On the plus side, you can just go Luger’s and forget about it."

It's not really anything more than a throwaway comment from someone who has probably seen him play two or three times before, if that. It carries no more weight or knowledge as anybody on here saying it, and probably a bit less than that.

Villa still haven't heard back from the Ivory Coast on their request for Kodjia to play against Cardiff on Monday. The request was made a few days ago and it's been mentioned that Villa are offering to fly him by private jet to Paris to join up with the main squad after the game. What's so difficult about giving an answer? B'ham Mail suggesting that he'll miss the Cardiff match.
