The wife of a friend of mine works for an insurance company.  He tells me that Frank Lampard allegedly has over a hundred watches valued at over £5;000 each.

Ask him about Flava Flav.

Unga bunga binga bunga.

Not the most exciting or inspiring of signings, but you would have to think, hope, that hes going to be an improvement.

Who were you hoping for, Dani Alves?

Is he that much better than Hutton?  I hope so but suspect it's a pretty modest upgrade.  I think some people are so desperate to be rid of Hutton that anyone who 'isn't Hutton' will be welcomed.  Hope I'm wrong but I'm not excited by this either.

I doubt there's many right backs that a second division could sign that would be exciting.

Well yes.  But i think we should have done better or stuck with what we have.

Not sure how much better we can expect in our current situation and what we have isn't good enough.

With the new personnel around him, I can see Hutton becoming a better option than our new signing to be fair. But a bit of competition for places can only be good in the long run.

Each to their own, but we're talking about the Hutton that's behind Bacuna in the current pecking order and who's made one consistent feature the hallmark of his stay in B6 - Struggling to be in the same postcode as whichever wide player is whipping in a cross from exactly the position you'd hope your right back would be in because he's either

a). lying on his arse somewhere between the half way line and the edge of the penalty area after he's failed to amputate said wide players right leg with another "studs up to prove how much he cares" tackle
or
b). trotting back towards our half having f#cked up yet another easy crossing position and gifted the opposition easy possession.

Huttons shit. People have been fooled by some of his animal tackles. Terrible defender.

That might be so, but it that just makes his repeated f¤¤k ups more obvious.

I'd have sympathy if he was working his bollocks off and getting caught out because he was covering for Richards going AWOL or Okore having a(nother) brain fart, but those things were just making his failings more obvious. He'll still be making those mistakes, even if he's got the spirit of Billy Wright and McGrath himself inside of him. And he'll still constantly be pulling the other members of the back 4  and presumably either Jedinak or Tshibola out of position waiting for his f¤¤k up.

I won't deny he tries, but then so would most of us. Doesn't make us qualified and it doesn't make him either.

I agree he lacked some composure but was that not symptomatic of the dross he had to work with, I think we will see a different player this season..... If he gets the chance.
