Trinity Road closure
« on: August 17, 2016, 06:13:37 PM »
I'm a little confused by the top half of Trinity Road being closed for the season, if we are pulling 34,000 plus for a Tuesday night game against Huddersfield it doesn't make sense.

Surely there would be several sellout and 40,000 plus in games against Newcastle, Birmingham, Wolves, Derby, Nottingham Forest etc. Just to name a few.

Surely they are reopening it for those games aren't they?

We still haven't sold out with the reduced capacity. I assume they'll open it as and when it's needed. I think it being closed has helped the atmosphere the first 2 games.

If they reckon they will fill half as well as the rest of the ground then they will open it.

Someone mentioned it on here before and I looked up there last night, the empty section really could do with a flag or some kind of covering over the empty seats.  A big flag with the design of the old Trinity Road stand sign on would be good.

Throw some green sand on it

No chance of getting 40k v Forest. Sunday lunchtime, live on TV and ticket prices will be more expensive by a tenner than first two games for some reason.

Newcastle might be different though...should be a good crowd for that one given the "rivarly" that has developed in recent years and it being the glamour championship fixture this season.

If Villa really wanted to they could sell out each game. It comes down to protect the profit not reducing tickets, extra staff etc.

We should use the space to place a huge FOR SALE advert for the bomb squad.

Seriously, whilst I am one of the displaced Trinity Upper Ultras, we should keep it closed this season if we aren't going to top 38k...the atmosphere has been better with more fans closer to the pitch.

I can't promise to behave WW - I've been known to throw my flask before now - it went all over the rug on someone's lap three rows down...
