Yes well worth a read as are all Villa books.  My absolute favourite is the one about a young school boy growing up in Wolverhampton features 1980/81.

One of the best books is by a certain Mr Woodhall, "From One Season To The Next" I think it was called. Covered every season from about 1975-2002 ish. About time there was a second volume.

I would enjoy the first part of the book, the second part would be unpleasant reading.

It would be great to have a book on the Tommy Docherty years when the crowds came back to VP in that somewhat false dawn. Bizarre but hopeful times back then. There was even a national TV current affairs programme devoted to the turnaround at Villa ("This Week" I believe it was called?). I also remember a News and Record sometime in 1969 with Tommy dressed as a red Indian on the cover. Anybody remember this, or am I a victim of distorted memories as I look back on my experiences as a fifteen year old supporter during that strange era....? At least I had Motown and Reggae to fall back on during these bad times as a Villa Fan, despite living well behind enemy lines in Small Heath and counting a fair few noses amongst my mates, with all the piss taking involved. There was a reggae club and disco under one of the stands at St Andrews that I reluctantly frequented , mainly due to the female talent present. Things were worse then than now for sure for a Villa fan...!

Was that the game we lost 1-0 to a Ken Foggo goal?

First match of the season, and a massive anticlimax after much over the top preseason hype as I remember it
