just read a few things on one their forums. One guy said we want revenge for the 1920 FA cup final. I think it's good be reminded of the fantastic history of some of these clubs, and pay them respect. Only for one season though.

They already took their revenge by signing Clem Stephenson.

Let it go, ffs. We've all moved on with our lives, you should too.

I'm trying, I really am. One day at a time.

God bless u hun.

There's something pushing from the back of my mind and I'm too tired to check it but, IIRC back in the dark days, the season we were relegated to the third division and the Doc was manager, we played Huddersfield in a mid-week match when Huddersfield were riding high.  We beat them 4-1 I think.  I think it was the time we had Emmet Kepengwe and Freddie Mwilla.  The Doc, as I recall only ever played the same line-up twice that season whilst he was in charge and that was that Huddersfield game and the next one against Cardiff where normal service was resumed with a defeat.

Correct

8th Oct 68
Godfrey, Tiler, Hole & Martin

Next match 0-4 Cardiff

This will be a lot tougher than Rotherham, I expect some of the glaring weaknesses in the side (full backs, presence in midfield, workrate on the flanks and up front) to be fully tested by this lot.

In saying that we should be beating these at Villa Park, they had a tough game last weekend while we cruised to victory so we should be a bit fresher. Tight game, will go 2-1 to the good guys, Gestede again on the mark.

I keep hearing how tough opponents Huddersfield will be and I don't get it. I realise this is a tough league and you shouldn't underestimate any team, but without checking out the odds surely Huddersfield are a fair way down the list of promotion favourites.

Strikes me the main difficulty in this league will be the sheer number of games coupled with the way teams will set up to play us, especially at VP.  I can see a lot of draws.

I know nothing about them. I am arrogant enough to believe we will win though.  ;D

They were pretty shit last year, although wells still scored a lot

Their new manager was assistant to Klopp at Dortmund and has brought in a few Germans. Apparently they'll be playing an uber pressing game this season, though I think they sat deep against Newcastle to counter the pace of (forgotten his name - the striker they bought)

We need to be prepared to play against either approach. I'm guessing they might press more as we've got less pace. Unless RDM springs a surprise and plays Adama

Still think we should win. But the players need to be right at it and not think they can just give the same performance as Rotherham. They looked very easy to play against

I'm going with McCormack to open his account with a long range strike.

This will be tougher than Saturdays game but we should have enough to win. 2-0.

Likewise Deano - not got a season ticket this year but as soon as Saturday finished I knew I had to go again tonight so snapped up one of those bargain Seatwave tickets. £17 for the Trinity Middle.

I was just about to post pretty much exactly the same sentiments.

Finding a 'Bein' stream would normally be your best bet but it looks like they're showing Chumps League tonight
