Wells for them. McCormack penalty for us.  Frustrating night.

Bananaman last week and Hogg on Tuesday.

The classic Villa midfield pairing from Villa v Manchester Utd 2010

There seems to be an outbreak of optimism on this site. Seems quite a while since the last outbreak.

No idea I'm afraid but they'll be a tougher test and I think our lack of pace won't help us.

Maybe 2-2.

JUST read the report from toon v udders, toon 65% possession. udders 3 shots on target of which one was a penalty and the scored from the save. So not exactly total attacking emphasis by udders

spose its obvs but they set themselves up to defend and attack on the break. so imagine that's something like what we can expect (well ditto for most our games in this division)

I think its imperative we outfight them in midfield, and with our goal machine up front 4 - 0

Expecting a bit of a reality check. Rotherham were awful and we're a work in progress.  1-1

Rotherham did look ridiculously bad. These lot will be much more organised. I read that They played very deep v the Geordies and let them have a lot of the ball at the back, but jostled them in central midfield.

We'll need to avoid the classic villa thing of leaving ourselves ridiculously open (cf Middlesbrough game). But I reckon they might have tired themselves out. We've also got gestede if they do defend deep

2-0 villa. McCormack still waiting for his first. So I'm going ayew and gestede

According the guy who watched them beat Newcastle on Saturday, he said that they have a very well organised defence and are quick on the counter attack

Hopefully we will edge it 2-1, just hope that our lot don't just turn up and expect to win

This could be a tough game

Is Ayew fit? He looked like he was limping when coming off on Sat, he seemed to spend a lot of the second half rubbing his lower back and looking uncomfortable.
