Gardner, Westwood, Gestede, Cissokho, Bacuna off.
That would leave us with 9....

A carthorse would be quicker than Gardner!

Unless we play with orthodox wingers there's no point playing Gestede at all. And relying on our full-backs to provide the width leaves us open to the counter attack - as we saw against 'Boro last week. I'd take him off, bring Jack on, and push Ayew further forward with McCormack.

Gardner really hasn't got the legs has he?

Pretty much all the problems we expected so not sure what I'd do. But I think I'd fetch gestede off and put ayew up top. Tshibola into midfield. Then McCormack and bacuna get 15 mins or so, before getting grealish and green on to exploit the space

It's all looking very Villa isn't it?

Yes.  When we have the ball, the pitch looks small and all players are marked.  When they have the ball, the pitch suddenly becomes bigger and players have space.

Gardner. Fucking useless. What a blatant foul. Embarrassing.

It's quite clear our full backs have been targeted by Wednesday. And rightly so. Theyre shit. Westwood is the worst player I've seen in a Villa shirt.

Ayew looks good, McCormack clever, and Elphick and Gollini solid.

The rest-well, we know all about them. Theyre playing to form.

0-0 is ok.

Solid enough, but totally ineffective in the middle

Refused entry  due to medication. Treated like scum. Don't drink but told that I was too drunk. How can I be drunk if I don't drink?

Only Ayew looks comfortable with a football at his feet which is somewhat disconcerting given we're a professional football club.

We need to move the ball quicker when in possession as they've been closing us down fairly quickly. Unfortunately I don't think we have the players capable of doing it.

Gardner has been absolutely dreadful.

I've literally just repeated what you've said Paulwinch. Bright hope my arse. He's worse than his hobbit of a brother.

Gardner needs to come off

Can we all just say after 8-9 years that Gardner isn't ever going to make it here and actually his fucking brother was the better one after all. I don't care for how close he was born to Villa Park and how many posters of Tony Daley he had on his wall ... I just want to see good players.

Gardner has been poor but at least he's done enough to get noticed. Westwood and Bacuna have contributed absolutely nothing.

This was for me the worst thing about us last season, effectively not having a midfield. I can't believe any of the management team think this is a sensible set up.

Level away to a settled side who are one of the promotion favourites. No great dramas at the back. Elphick actually talking to the defence. More signings to come. Players who can change things on the bench. I will take that.

I hadn't realised Bacuna was playing until he was fouled.

Not too bad given that the midfield have contributed absolutely nothing.
