Dull game between two impotent sides.

Spending £70+ million only to end up worse than either of these two takes a special level of ineptitude.

You can spend all you like but we weren't used to the championship like those two and we had little fighting spirit about us.

Check the amount of times Reading and Huddersfield won points in injury time or after falling behind in games, we hardly won a game when that happened.

Despite what they did against SHA I'm pleased Huddersfield did it. They haven't been in the top division for 40 odd years while Reading as a club and place is very plastic and they've been in the prem 3 times in last 10 years.

That game was utter piss and made all the worse by the reality that we were nowhere near either of them in the final league placing.

They were rubbish today, but good to see them back in the top flight.

On that showing they'll need about nine new guaranteed first teamers for next season though.

They signed some decent players this season from Germany so imagine Wagner will get better quality from Bundesliga now they've got prem football.

Their style of play will help aswell. Play similar to Bournemouth and believe in their manager so I reckon they'll catch out some of the established prem teams like Stoke and West Brom.

Will be good to see if Wagner's impact continues in the top flight. He's essentially got Huddersfield promoted on a League One budget.

Town going up means he's unlikely to take a downgrade at Middlesborough or any other Championship rival. It will also sicken Leedzzz, which is always a bonus.

Don't see Reading in mix for top 6 next year, they massively overachieved this season imo and this is just about the hardest defeat to recover from.

Not being funny SHQ but how do you come to that conclusion?. I live here and quite honestly the fans I am with are gutted. Stam has done an incredible job with no resources, battles in the boardroom with a takeover going on at crucial times, and they were the only team that got anywhere near the shite from the north and ideas above their station from the south coast.

What is evident is how appalling we have become but in a way it humbles us as fans and reminds us why we support our club. Through thick and thin we will always be Aston Villa and every 'plastic team' knows it

Saw that Reading played that sick note of a defender Villa had on loan from Liverpool in Dim Tim's time - Tiago Illori.

The German influence in the penalty shoot out worked again for Huddersfield. They beat Shef Weds the same way in the semis.

Be interesting to see what happens with Huddersfield as at least 3 of their best players this season have been loanee's

ie Mooy from Citeh, Izzy Brown from Chelski and Ward from Liverpool

The last 2 wont be sold by their parent clubs......They are going to need a lot of players in a shortish period of time

Been to the Madjeski to watch Walsall play there and for a start I hate stadiums miles out of the city centre, it took 15 minutes to get there on the bus from the station.

No traditional home end when I was there either, area behind the goal was pretty empty as all their fans were more interested in amassing in the corner and goading the Walsall fans for a while.

It's an inoffensive enough town but due to its proximity to London attracts plenty of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs fans so I imagine plenty of them will be posting off for their season tickets tomorrow to watch prem football and their own teams there.

When I think of fans with foam hands, jester hats, face paints etc Reading is just one of those clubs that come to mind. Could be wrong of course.

They'll re-sign them on season long loans again next season would be my guess as none of the three are going to be playing for their parent clubs anytime soon.

I live in Berks and ypur pretty much right. They only have small support. They get a lot people going to their games who don't support them but go to see a match - all around here are loads of people who come here for work, myself included.

Huddersfield up with a -2 goal difference and not winning any of the play off games.
