That's the thing, it will still be in one of the worst parts of North London, one of those grounds the nearer to kick off you get there the better, after wetting the throat somewhere nice in London.

Yeah I've always been uneasy in Tottenham. It's a seedy, dodgy area with fans as scummy as Chelsea and West Ham.

Give it five years and it'll be full of artisan bakeries, organic coffee shops and ironic penny farthings.

It will take some serious social engineering and a lot more bulldozers, unless you are talking match day experience.

Been to some great games at WHL, and possibly seen as many wins as losses (which is a rarity).  Having made the mistake of driving to the cup game in Jan due to rail strikes, I simply don't know how they'll cope with traffic for a 60k stadium - it was utter carnage for 30k on a Sunday.  Never, ever again.

It is an area that has remained resolutely shit despite the relative gentrification of surrounding suburbs. Apparently it is earmarked for regeneration but it will take a lot of money to change the feel of that place.

So what happens next year when they drop out of the top 4 and go into the new place failing to get into the CL?

Chelsea will be stronger
Man U will be under great pressure to be challenging for the league so will invest.
Man City too the same.
Arsenal - who knows?
Liverpool - who knows?

A Europa place is probably as good as it will get for them.  Then the following season they will have us to contend with as well.

I look at the likes of Spurs making these huge strides forward and wonder if we are more likely to be a Sheff Weds-type club and simply fester in this league for years (or worse) rather than compete at that level any time soon.

I expect the two Manc' teams to be spending big and Chelsea too.  Not sure about the others.  Spurs haven't really taken to Wembley as a temporary home this season.  Anyway, I'm looking for something to cling onto to show that it's going to go tits up for them next season and live in hope.

Tottenham are like Everton: when they have a purple patch it's always the Second Coming, but invariably they have to sell off their best player because he's more likely to win stuff at a bigger club, they replace with prosaic cloggers and an anoymous manager. I hate anything  new in football, but credit where  credits due they are not a Milton Keynes Dons - okay may have overspent but so have the Villa if you acknowledge what is written in the press.  I looked at their website earlier charging more for a season ticket than what I pay at the Villa.  My visit there can wait give me Crewe away in the league cup.
