I know Clyde are going through a tough time but that's a slightly hyperbolic comparison.  All I'm saying is if say Barton did it you could easily believe he did it with malice aforethought (let's keep the murder theme).  But Taylor obviously has done something daft but not gone out to break the guys leg.

It was a bad tackle but we've all seen worse and the player get up. He didn't go in two feet. It's very unfortunate. Not saying he shouldn't have received a red card but the injury suffered is really, very unlucky.

It was a bad tackle and definite red card.  As Dean Saunders pointed out after the game, he blocked the cross but then hesitated as the ball broke.  It was that slight hesitation that caused him to be late and to lunge. Unfortunately these things happen in sport and it didn't appear that he tried to 'do' Coleman.  As someone who has suffered a bad injury himself, I'm sure he is probably cut up about it as well.

At the time I hoped it was going to be one of those injuries that wasn't as bad as first feared, but it sounds like a terrible one.

Sorry, but it was a vile tackle.  Even allowing for him being a Villa man, nobody can defend that

No excuse whatsoever for Taylor's foot being that high, Bale too lucky he didn't cause serious damage to O'Shea.

Awful game aside from that, real kick and rush stuff. Bale had a couple of moments of real quality but had no support. Ramsey has regressed hugely as a player, shying away from physical contact all night.

"Vile tackle" would imply there was intent there to do harm.  Really not sure that was the case.

It happened too quickly to be malicious, in my opinion.
He was looking for the ball, just a badly timed tackle.

The fact that leg has been broken amplifies the story and it was Ireland v Wales, had the same tackle (justifiable red btw) been against Serbia and no leg break we wouldn't be discussing it.

Media boredom lets move on.

I don't think for one minute it was intended to hurt him, but this whole "he's not that type of player" stuff is one of those clichés I hate.  If you tackle like that (and he has got a track record of poor and reckless challenges), then you ARE that type of player.  No excuses whatsoever.

It was starting to look possible that America might not qualify, which would have been hilarious. Honduras are useless ******.

Bromsgrove 5-2 up. Haven't gone over as I have the joys of sciatica again. However, I still managed to win the 50/50 raffle as me and a mate always buy one each and agree to split the prize if either of us win and I told him to still buy me ticket today. So £90 won without leaving the house!

*I've had to edit twice, it's raining goals at the Vic!
