Evening. Watching S'Ton 1-0 Liv atm and surprised that it can be legal 1) for Sturridge to be given a handwritten note on tactics ( he reads ) and 2) for him to throw it away onto the grass.....surely a Littering offence and worthy of a red card or at least a £60 on-the-spot fine !

FA Vase Saturday, Morpeth winning 4-2 at cup favourites South Shields who are down to 10 men. Floodlights fail with 8 minutes to go and match is abandoned. Match replayed and a straight forward win for South Shields. Strikes me as very unfair on Morpeth.

I think maybe in certain circumstances, the result should be allowed to stand. Less than ten minutes left, a two goal and a man advantage is one such instance. South Shields would have done themselves a lot of credit had they offered to concede the tie.

Hope they get knocked out.

Didn't see the game but just looking at their team and am amazed at how well they're doing.

Another problem I have is what's to stop anyone else that's losing a big cup game at home from having floodlight 'problems'?

Yes. Confidence goes a long way in this league, most teams a pretty similar quality.

Due to meeting up tomorrow in Sheffield with some Uni mates (one of them being a Sheff Wed fan), I shall be visiting Hillsborough to watch them play Huddersfield.

I'm quite interested actually to see two Championship teams play against each other to figure out just how crap/good they/we are (I don't ever recall watching a Championship match that hasn't involved Villa). Obviously we'll be in the pub afterwards to watch us play Wolves.

The last time I went to Hillsborough was with said Uni Sheff Wed supporting mate in 2000, when we scored a 90th minute winner through Alan Thompson. I seem to recall that (unusually) it was a dire match. It's quite interesting to look at our team for the match: 9 English players, 1 Welsh and 1 Trinidadian. It also had Richard Walker starting one of his very few games for us. (http://www.11v11.com/matches/sheffield-wednesday-v-aston-villa-05-april-2000-249/)

Leeds one up. They have battered Derby so far, should be 3 up.

Derby can't be anu worse 2nd half.  Should be interesting if ince gets more involved and plenty of attacking impetus on bench embarrassment of riches  Will Hughes Vydra Russell Nugent and weimann (who must be low down)

Leeds look like they might stay the distance.  We need to target Huddersfield and Reading.
