Villa have not lost to Barnsley since 1903 and maybe before. A draw but no lose. Don't make it a first in more than a century.

I think you will find we lost to Barnsley in the one year they made it to the Premier League.Either 1997 or 98 I think it was at Villa Park as well.
Yes they beat us 1-0 on a Wednesday night. They were in the bottom 4 along with Spuds. I had two Barnsley fans with me as my guest that night and wished them well for relegation fight and hoped their win at VP will send Spuds down but sadly  no.

I went to that Barnsley game. It was probably the coldest I've ever been at a Villa game, and where we were sat in the Witton Lane, we were in line with the Barnsley winner. Not a great night.

I think we were on a great run at the time we lost to Barnsley too.

Yep, Gregory came in and we won 9 of 11. Our defeats were Barnsley and Bolton at home and both were relegated.

It's funny apart from I had Payet as my Fantasy League captain. Bugger.

Irvine Welsh retweeted this earlier, which made me smile...

"David Cameron's inability to distinguish West Ham from Aston Villa is looking less ignorant by the minute."

Wet Spam getting relegated in their tax payer funded stadium would be a very fine thing indeed.

The jury from Denmark awards this 10 points :)

The fact that they're playing crowd noise over the tannoy to create atmosphere is also beautiful.

Watched a bit of their game yesterday - as I wanted a bit of a laugh - at their expense. Somebody has spent money putting a lot of West Ham branding on the stadium, including pictures of Bobby Moore on the toliets (shows their class). And there is a video on social media showing Mrs Pescisolido (is a f***ing ****) saying how wonderful they are, despite their fans behaviour inside the tax payer funded arena.

Not sure if they paid for the undersoil heating but think their forward planning is up to their usual standard. A colleague of mine was working at the Anniversary Games in July (this year just 2 days of athletics). The City of London stadium groundstaff initially refused to let my friend (who was their to prepare for the field events) to go on the pitch. He had to put down lines for the javelin sector. What are they throwing onto the pitch? This year it was only javelin and Discus, but next year (Athleticsc World Champs) they will be throwing hammers. How heavy are they? He asked.  7.26kg, and the World's best throw them about 80m so when they land they make quite a big dent, my friend replied. But that will ruin the undersoil heating - you can't do that here!  I think we can, my friend replied, 2 qualifying rounds and a final will mean at least 100 metal spheres will be landing on the pitch next August. Plus a few javelins etc.

Can't wait to hear Mrs P moaning next summer! And Wet Spam skating on thin ice in winter. Hopefully by then they will be in the Championship.
