The ref played only the necessary 7 minutes injury time needed for England to score.

It would have been nice to see something different with a new manager. Same failings, same one-paced turgid football and why Rooney in midfield?
Well did you really expect that from Allardyce? Only Pulis could take England into the modern era IMO.

In fairness to Allardyce, and I am no big defender of his, it's probably unfair to expect him to have solved all of England's problems after one week with the squad.

Other than the goal the only moment I enjoyed tonight was 1 minute into the game when that eejit Tyldesley asked Hoddle what he had made of the Allardyce regime so far.

Turgid service dished up by England tonight. That was very laboured.

They've just beaten the second seeds, a team they failed to beat this Summer, away from home. I don't see too much to moan about to be honest.

Can't complain with a win against the 2nd best team in the group on their turf.

Sets us up nicely now to hopefully stop the Jocks getting to another World cup.

Only really watched the last 25 minutes, my thoughts regarding Eric Dier remain the same as when he played at the Euros, the most aptly named footballer ever.
Rooney should have retirement forced upon him, no arguments just fuck off.

Big Fat Sam won't change the world in his first few games but he needs to find his formation and team fast unlike his predecessor who still didn't know what it was in his final game against Iceland.

He described Rooney's performance as "brilliant" and "he controlled the midfield".  I could've controlled their midfield, they were playing inside their own 18 yard box. The only time they came out was to go off at half time.

Tom's claiming that the crap music is coming from the home fans.

I think that he's lying :)
