The Scottish League Cup starts tonight, it's a Group Stage this season.

For those with BT Sport, your offerings are Arbroath v Dundee United tonight and Motherwell v Rangers tomorrow in a rare televised 3pm game.

Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs, as European Qualifiers, don't enter till the knockout stage.

In the big game, Mighty Clyde host Kilmarnock.

I think I'd rather set fire to my legs.

You missed a treat. Lichties Arabs went to penalties (yes, they have penalties in the Group Stage).

I see Celtic are using their safe standing area (for 2,600) the first time today.

Consett 0 (0) v (3) 7 Bradford Park Avenue

Bradford P A used to be one of those clubs that always had their team picture on the inside back cover of the Football League Review. Hairy-arsed ruffians and spindly youth all in shapeless shirts. The current job lot did their forebears proud - hoofball, sly tugs and shoves, constant complaints to officials and a manager whose every other word began with an f.

Berwick Rangers and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion had both been beaten in the previous fortnight using three at the back - defenders comfortable on the ball, wing-backs rarely in their own half, midfielders bootlegging the ball through to the forwards. Consett played as much football as they were allowed and could have scored three in the first fifteen minutes. Bradford, encourged by a  keeper who couldn't kick and wouldn't come off his line, seemed to score whenever they felt the urge.

Looks like Doug must have taught Joe a new trick before the latter headed off to Tampa

Anyone see Demba Ba break his leg, if you're squeamish try to avoid it as it is very nasty?

Only pre season but it's always nice to see Mourinho and Man United take a hammering, Dortmund beating them 4-1.

Looks like he was playing the noses down at the sty judging by the attendance. And he still looks a wanker when he celebrates. The only thing missing was his tongue hanging out of his head.

Why does a Spurs preseason game get live text updates on the BBC website?

Bias in the media again?
