It’s another daft decision that this manager has a habit of making about players, selections and tactics.
This is why we have a team that significantly achieves less than its potential.

Don’t understand this one at all with no apparent replacement.

I'm actually not too bothered about this. Bruce clearly doesn't rate Elphick and has an embarrassment of defenders in the squad, several of whom can cover for CB.
The manager has also already said that he wants Jedi to be the LCB, so here we are; for better or worse.
If it means Bree and RDL get opportunities to play, great.

Gob bless him, but I think he's one of the worst footballers I've ever seen pull on our shirt.

He wasn't very good. If it's a toss up between him and Jedinak, I'll go with the latter as at least he's not a tart whose afraid of a goal post and vulnerable in the air.
What about when Jedi is knackered?  We know he can't play every week and is likely to pick up injuries.  I'm generally glass half full mindset, but if there is no replacement then this is just madness.

Then we play Tuanzebe there, which is likely the long term plan.

We have Bree and RDL can play centre half in addition.

I'm bemused at the reaction for letting a player that's been almost universally dire, that's barely played in 2 years go, a complete liability has in anyway weakened us.

He's not a great player but would be far better cover than having to rely on fullbacks and midfielders as and when the injuries come.

Glad he's gone to be honest he's no future here so good luck to him. Think a combination of Chester Jedinak Bree and Tuanzabe is sufficient.

Those two aren't even getting into the squads in their preferred position of right back, so all of a sudden they're going to be good enough to play central defence if called upon?  Going into the rest of the season with one proper experienced central defender seems a bit silly if you ask me.

Only 1 of the 4 you just mentioned has any pedigree as a centre-half. So my question to you is... How? That's just daft thinking.

Agreed. Especially when we have a surplus of players in less important positions.

I’m not one for knocking Bruce about everything but he’s a defensive manager and he has left us short there.

It will take a huge change in mindset for him to set up a team to go out and utilise our attacking players to simply outscore teams.

I was expecting to feel more confident this evening than I was yesterday. I’m not.

I'm not convinced.
