Elphick is not being scapegoated, he is actually terrible. So terrible, I'd actually play Richards in front of him.

Me too.  Keith Richards.

Or Wendy.

Wendy could do a good job in the hole or at the base of a diamond.

Sorry to spoil the fun but there is an 's' on the end. Viv Richards would do the job though.

Exactly. Elphick is getting stick for the mistakes he makes, and no others.

He does appear to be a walking disaster....much like Ehiogu when he started ( whether it was Norwich or not - and he was blooming awful in that game. I was right down the front of the Holte and saw every mis-kick up close as I recall )
Elphick just seems to be bull-at-a gate ( would have been useful to McCormack, no ? )

No co-ordination in him.

I haven't seen too many players be overwhelmed by the experience of playing for Villa but this guy is definitely in that camp. He can't hack it and is an accident waiting to happen in every game he plays. Saturday was a prime example.

Let's just hope the manager is thinking along the same lines now and does not play him again, sorry it did not work out, but it has not.

Personally I think nearly all of them are overwhelmed by the experience

It's probably because most the time they play the balls at the opposition's feet.

Every time he's involved, we concede comedy goals.

I imagine he works hard in training and is seen as "a good pro", the sort managers like.

None of that really matters, though, if he's shit at football.
