He looks dodgy because our midfield is way to open, this is also the reason Jedinak and Westwood looks shit, put an extra body in there and they'll all look more solid.

Buy a midfield and the defence may look better

Clark won MOtM kicking every ball that came his way into the crowd. Elphick should have dealt with the cross easily. It wasn't as difficult as he made it look. As for the Gayle chance, why fuck about there? It should have gone as he doesn't have a turn like that in his locker. Ironically, it reminded me of Clark versus Tevez.

He's been poor, but I won't write him off yet. He has to get much better.

Elphick and Jedinak are the finished article, they are what they are they won't improve they are to old unfortunately they will go the opposite way

We needed them to hit the ground running with experience and leadership but they are both utter cack at the moment and a waste of money

Elphick has just turned 29. He's hardly collecting his pension.

We have to remember where we currently are though.  Although both have had success at the level there is a reason they have spent most of their careers in the Championship.  If we're expecting McGrath and Platt levels of performance from them, then I think we will be disappointed.

Edit - that said, they were both shocking today!

Really? I think he manages "dodgy" quite well without help from anyone thank you very much.

He's shocking. I'd have taken him and not Baker off at half time. In fact I wouldn't have started him. He's an accident waiting to happen. He gets caught in possession, out of position and is outpaced regularly.

But yet looked very good for a promotion winning Bournemouth at this level.

I might be wrong but he looks like a man who is feeling the weight of expectation and pressure of being a captain of a big club.  Bournemouth Captain and Villa captain are simply night and day in terms of size and expectation.

That was two years ago and last season he did next to nothing for Bmouth. There was a reason for that.

No he is just not very good and that brings pressure if you are captain.

Being out for the best part of 6 months with an ankle injury tends to stop you doing much for the first team ;)
