The above match is on Sky (only fifteen minutes highlights) at 7pm if anyone fancies watching.

Watched this, memories of a good night, had forgotten how bad and lucky Bacuna's open goal from 2 yards out was.

Memories of a tremendous night and for us long-standers, a reminder of an equally terrific opening game to the 1983-84 season.

I'd also forgotten Bacuna's "shot".

Remember thinking afterwards that if Bacuna had struck it properly it might have been saved, so it was very lucky.

I had completely forgotten that Uruguayan centre-back for them who was absolute rubbish though.

In fact the only goal I really remembered before watching the highlights was the Delph one, which was excellent.

I remembered the Quisling screamer and the Benteke penalty. Although I wasn't sure if I'd confused the latter with a late penalty in the league last season.

I was thinking 'was this where we battered them all game and got a late penalty when Foster fouled us?', but that was the year after.
