We are caught in a perfect storm TV.  We don't score enough goals and we concede soft goals.  Based on Cambridge, if Hepburn Murphy and Green had started yesterday's game, I believe the first hour would have yielded more than one goal.  Rushian is only small but he has pace and a good engine.  He is the perfect antidote to Gestede toothlessness.

I hope Brian that the talented young players are integrated gradually. I agree with you though that some of them should be played instead the tried and tested, or as we have tried and failed.

this where the wanker black buggered up, if he had chucked a few of the kids in once we had been relegated at least they would have had game time against better opposition

chuck the russian in, chuck green in, chuck the reserve left back in, anything apart from the same wankers who took us down and make your eyes bleed doing the same one paced unpenetrative shit week in week out that has never worked an aint going to anytime soon

I know it was only Worcester City the other week, but we looked twice as effective with "Spud" Hepburn-Murphy up front in the 2nd half (and Stan instead of Gardner deep midfield) than we did in the first half with Kozak...and even more so when Davis came on...and scored 2!

conclusion: it's no good playing with a big man up front unless you play to his strengths (Gestede has none that I have seen) so use pace instead....Spud has it, Davis has it, Traore has it.

Ayew and grealish were the two most creative players on the pitch.

What did Grealish create exactly?  I must have missed it, perhaps when I went for a pish.

We had about three moves of quality in that first half. One led to the corner we scored from. One led to the Hutton chance. And one to ayew' chance when he got a bit injured. I think grealish was involved in all three

That's not to say he doesn't need more end product. It can be tough though when your centre forward is just fucking standing there doing nothing

For me Jack needs to be far more decisive and direct. Keep it simple. He tends to beat the man and not make a direct move towards goal. And absolutely needs to add shooting let alone goals to his game.

If I never see Hutton, Cissokho, Bacuna or Gestede in a Villa shirt again it'll still be too soon.

God help us if we're going into the Sheff Weds game with that lot in the starting eleven.

Hutton is a Villa legend according to some of his Instagram followers. ::)

Gestede is not going to make the difference we need - although if we do continue with him, surely H-M and Green have to play out wide. I'd prefer to give Davis a run upfront rather than persist with Gestede.
Cissokho is dreadful - concentration and positioning are his undoing.

The latest rumour today is of Abel Fernandez being touted for a move from Hull, with Gestede going the other way ... Hope that is true.

Alan Hutton has become a legend because he tries - even if the accolades seem somewhat of a piss-take during the match...

Legend my arse!
Your Villa Legend is too over the hill for Aston Villa, The EFL and possibly League 1.
Just out of interest, how old are you Witton Warrior?

I'd take eleven Alan Huttons with all his inadequacies as a footballer any day of the week for his attitude alone.  Far superior in attitude than any other of his so-called team mates.  He gets a lot of stick on here with comments like he just kicks people.  Well maybe he does but, at least he cares enough to  kick which is more than can be said for most of the others.  New signings notwithstanding.

What exactly does he care about?

At least Hutton makes the effort and looks like he is bothered.
