What I have difficulty getting my head around is: the amount of people clamouring for RDM to get rid of all the shit.  Easy said, but first of all someone has to want them.  Secondly, if they are interested in them thinking it's going to improve their existing squad then, they must already have some proper shit on their books.

To get rid of all our dross as it stands, with very, very few exceptions; then paying up their contracts is the only option and with all the shit we have that needs shifting, that ain't going to happen.

I saw a post yesterday asking if anyone knew if we'd received a fee for Guzan.  I didn't as yet see an answer.  Does anyone know?

I assumed we let him go on a free as he was surplus to requirements ... that's kind of what I read.

I suppose  a 3-1 defeat is reflective of a team that suddenly decided to go forward and one that inexplicably decided to go sideways? I thought we started; albeit sedately, on the front foot and shaded the first half. Sadly our bad habits from last season soon emerged though after their equaliser. As for Gestede? I fail too see the point in his presence in the team.

That was complete shit, team is bollocks still and has no game plan still. There's no goals in the team, no prescence and very little pace. As it stands we will struggle to make the play offs.

Pissing the division is cloud cuckoo land.

My first game for quite a while.  I hope they swapped shirts with those Premier League players at the end because it will be the closest they get to it for a long time.

Gestede and Grealish 25+ goals combined, I read that on here the other day, maybe down the power league but not next season they won't.

This will probably prove a more useful work out than our earlier victories. Nice to see Amavi on the pitch.

I could understand it, accept it even, if our impotence was purely down to a sub-standard playing staff. However, when a team is set up in that manner with Gestede ploughing a lone furrow then I lose all sense of what a professionally run football club actually is. What on Earth is going on? Who are these managers we seem to be enduring? Jesus H. I know it is only a friendly but who thinks for a millisecond that system will ever be effective. Truly awful and dispiriting.

We're in for a tough season if that was our best today. We need an entire midfield, a striker, and a dependable defender.

It isn't our best. A lot will change between now and the end of the window. There is no way based on what RDM will have seen so far that will be the line up that takes us into the season. There will be at least 4 or 5 ins and outs yet. And we won't settle into a consistent formation and system for a month or two.

Well, that's it for me. A shit performance in a pre-season match. They can shove it.
These games always dictate how you will perform in the coming  season.

I really hope so, TV. I guess I had hoped we would be a bit more energised than we have been, with perhaps a more discernible gameplan. Hopefully it's coming but this and the Nantes game has been grounding for me. Lots of work to do and as it stands I cannot see us making light work of this league.

I thought we did show some nice moments today but fleetingly and from individuals rather than as a collective.

Nelly, from what I've read it appears he is looking for two strikers. We had no movement at all up front and I can only think that he played Gestede because he had no other options. We didn't put in any decent crosses today probably because we're not good enough but mainly because RDM isn't setting us up to play that way.

I'd like to think that the only fixtures should be Gollini, Elphick, Amavi when fit and Ayew. Grealish will play a role but in my opinion has a lot to do, Tshibola should be in there also. After that it's anyone's guess as to who will become a regular.
