If that's right then fair play to them. It's hilarious watching a big club slide in to oblivion but you know that what is happening to us is more than just getting relegated, it's been complete and utter neglect. That is why no Lerner is not a decent chap, he's a twat who turned his back on us and hid when hard work was needed the most. This re-arranging of the chairs in the death throws of his reign is absolutely pathetic and I don't buy in to a word he says. He's a dodgy bastard a bullshitter and an appallingly bad owner.

Today was unbearable at VP. I have never seen anything like it before. Fans booed every player when team names were announced before the kick off. Some like Lescott, Bacuna, Richards were picked out for special treatment. Fans cheered good play from Southampton in between singing derogatory chants about Lerner, Lescott and a few hearty renditions of not fit to wear the shirt throughout the match up to 65th when I walked out. I am sure it probably got worse after that. Southampton played at about half pace picking us out at will. Could have scored lot more. I am just astonished about our lack of competence any where on the pitch. This is a very embarrassing team in a dreadful time in our history.

Aston Villa caretaker-manager Eric Black, speaking to BBC Sport: “We created more chances. We had two or three chances, and if we’d taken them, we might have got something. But if we have to score five goals at home to win a game, then we’re going to be in for a tough challenge. We did get a response under difficult circumstances, but it wasn’t enough to win the game.

“We conceded poor goals that put us on the back foot. There was a response, and credit for that, but on the day it wasn’t enough.

“The fans are entitled to vent their displeasure. It’s not an ideal atmosphere, but it’s understandable, given the circumstances. We have to continue to be professional."

You would think at some point the players would start wanting to play for purely selfish reasons.

They can dream about joining premier league clubs all they want but who the hell is going to want a player who was part of "the  legendary Villa disasteros of 2016"?

I understand many are just trying to avoid injury till the end of the season when they beleive they can bail or be bought but right now they are looking so comical that is not going to happen.

The only way they can be rid of Aston Villa (a club many of them apparently despise) is to put in a performance or two so your agent has something he can use to offset the stink of being part of this team. Right now they are making themselves unemplayable.

I found giving dog's abuse to Lescott and Guzan rather cathartic today.

All-in-all probably as enjoyable day as I've had at Villa Park this season.
