Westwood was the only player to show any emotion yesterday. In tears at the end. Despite the flak he has on here I so genuinely believe he is one of the few that cares. In a decent midfield he can so a job.

do a job as what?

Westwood cares. He's just not regular first team material especially at PL level.

Pat Murphy said make Ciaran Clark captain next season? No thanks. I sincerely hope that we go out and sign a captain in the summer.

Westwood will be okay in chumps as a holding defender. Clark does my nut in. Can show good signs but his defensive career is littered with errors. However, will be interesting get to see how he does in euros. Never understood why he was moved from midfield.  Looked promising to me

Considering he has been abused in public whilst with his family and barely leaves his home anymore I admire the fact he does still care while the likes of Flabby, Lescott, Bacuna, Richards etc still live their lives without a care in the world....

dont disagree with any of that

however for us to get back to where we belong we cant carry on being a benevolent home to shit footballers

with the physical presence of an 8 year old,  pointy boy will get eaten alive next season

but like the rest of the shit we are lumbered with him as no one will be stupid enough to buy him

Clark is a bang average defender, like the rest of them prone to drop a bollock every game. But there's no way on this earth he could ever be considered good enough to play in midfield.

I'd agree with that. He's one I wouldn't mind keeping. I think he'd be alright in the Championship and doesn't come across as a complete cock, which with our squad is a miracle.

I don't see the point in keeping Westwood if we can get rid of him. He's had three seasons in the Premier League and been shite in all of them. Nothing I've seen makes me think he'll be anything but lightweight as we look to replace a midfield that's more porous than a cut-up sponge.

And he can't score.

Sadly I agree. I have said it before but what does he offer? I still cant figure out what kind of midfielder he is.  Creator, Workhorse, Destroyer? He is none of the above. He doesnt even have a good deadball in his locker.

Great attitude , no doubt works hard in training but I dont see why he would deserve to hold down a starting place in our team. I think we should be setting the bar higher, even in the championship.

Holding his own todger maybe. The bloke is physically weak, has poor concentration, doesn't track runners and can't tackle. What part of the holding midfielder job can he do? If it's move ball from A to B 5 yards away then I'm afraid we're using 2 players to do 1 players job again.

You're right, he's a wimp. I've never seen a player so easily shoved off the ball as Westwood. If anything the Championship is even more physical than the PL. He's not the man for our midfield next season, it's time to show him the door.

I care. You wouldn't want me in a holding midfield position though.

It depends. After four years, could we expect to see any marked improvement in your game?

Totally agree.  He needs to be at a mid to lower table Championship clu
