I'm convinced we are going to get done by a double figure score before the season is out. My money is on this one or Arsenal.  Them reeling from that spuds defeat, with a returning Rooney and us down before Kick Off sounds a recipe for chaos to me.

I'd happily take double figures at Old Trafford, if in exchange we relegated Newcastle at VP.

Really? People are becoming slightly obsessed with Newcastle.
For no apparent reason, i bear them no ill-will and certainly didn't/will not celebrate their relegation, i just dont get the animosity (a few) people suddenly have towards them.

It's because Newcastle got all precious over the fact that we despatched them with wit and élan last time out. Since then, they've been salivating at the prospect of our demise, only for it to bite them on the arse in amusing fashion.

Because they started some comedy hatred of us after we laughed at them years ago.

I can only go by the many mates of mine who have been Newcastle supporters for years (they hate the idiots that hang about outside St James Park even more than the rest of the world do), they don't give a fuck about Villa, apart from sometimes showing me some pity.

I'm fully aware of that, but it seems to be snowballing dangerously to the point where i can see some serious friction when we play them at VP which is a shame because were both in the same boat.

Anybody who has been at St James' Park the past two season we've played up there and seen how they greet us when we come out the away end will be laughing their bollocks off when they come down with us.

I was up there last season. How it didn't kick off downstairs after the game is anyone's guess.

I think some of the hilarity may have been driven by the tide of hyperbole and bullshit from the media regarding Newcastle, particularly in the early days of the PL.

All that "everyones favourite second team", Tony Blair, Toon this, toon that and toon the fuckin' other, passionate loyal supporters, Mary Poppin's up front etc etc

It certainly seemed to be the inspiration for the Ant and Dec banner and the famous cynical nature of us Brummies does not react well to being told how big and how wonderful a club is when we already support one.

Of course, this is not the fans fault, but with the prospect of another shot of yet another crying Geordie in a replica shirt who can blame Villa fans for laughing like drains?

For the record I don't bear any ill to Newcastle, have always had a great time visiting and found the people to be friendly but their demise will raise a smile when I think of those angry "toon" fans who act so precious.

They'll already be down by the time they visit B6.

This season there were more wearers of black Italian coats and leather gloves, so it escalated more quickly.

Those cheeky bastards won't get an ounce of sympathy if they're down when they come here.  They've been by far the most provocative bunch we've come across in recent years - and the fact that they allow their fans to congregate outside the away exits at the end says a lot about the club's attitude too.

There are plenty of their match going support who still harbour hatred towards us for laughing when the overhyped wankers went last time.

They were wanking themselves silly on the message boards over Christmas about how they will party like it is 1999 when they relegate us at Villa Park.

Fuck 'em. I will laugh my balls off if they go down at Villa Park again.

Lets lighten the mood,
On Saturday I am 60,an unbelievable event for someone who has always considered himself as akin to Peter Pan.
Although this event has been coming for 60 years, I started considering it about a year ago.
Some people have big parties, travel to Katmandu or contemplate what could have been.
When the fixture list was issued, I knew what I would do. I am going to travel 9300KM To see my beloved Villa relegated, although seeing us relegated did not feature in the initial plan.
It then got me thinking, I could be a fucking jinx.
The first season I clearly remember was 66/67 last home game of the season lost 4- to Everton. Relegated !
By the time we were scraping the barrel of the 2nd division, I was a regular. last game at home to S.utd we won 1.0 but went down. I was there, at least I was not alone 3rd biggest crowd of the season 32,000 I thing we gave the lads a great send off, and the Phoenix rose from Div 3.
I was not around in 87 when we went down, but watched it from afar.
So on Saturday if you are at old trafford look for , a reasonably fit if not a bit overweight grey haired old steamer with a 70,s Villa shirt on who will be screaming his lungs out for the boys in claret and blue.
Any one who fancies popping into the Windsor later in the evening can give me a hug and I will buy them a pint.
It could get a bit noisy later on.
