CYNICISM ~ or a PLAN ?
« on: April 10, 2016, 12:41:55 AM »
This 'new Board' is a bit of an enigma to me. :-\

I'm not sure if they are flying-by-the-seat-oftheir-pants or if they actually have a LONG TERM PLAN !
Start with the installation of the ex-bluenose Eric Black as Asst coach.
Eric's CV is...

Managed Motherwell  :)
Caretaker at Coventry after Gary M resigned.
Caretaker at Sunderland after Bruce was sacked.
Caretaker at Blackburn after Kean dissolved.
Caretaker at Rotheram after Evans went
Caretaker for us after Remi was discarded.

Eric Black - ex blouses - is probably the most saught after "Caretaker Manager" in the UK.
His record of abject failure has no bearing it seems on his perpetual employment as a
cuckoo. Any manager getting Eric appointed next to him must know, or fear,  the reasoning.

So the board get the 'teflon caretaker' in situ ~ get rid of Remi ...and proceed.

Starve Remi of re-inforcements in January, no potential Championship purchases, no Bent as a last throw of the dice ~ Big Money that saved us remember. :'(

Our New Board.......Planning for the future ??

Cynical or Reactionary ?

Planned or Reactionary ?

As I said, I can't get a grip on their "culture" ~~ perhaps it's too soon
~ for them as well as us. To see if they have a Plan / Vision / Target
beyond cutting deadwood.

I'd imagine the appointment of Black as caretaker manager is mostly down to him already being at the club - as it tends to be with every single other club, pretty much.

It's neither. It's a conspiracy. Those in the know, know the truth behind this! *taps nose*

And be grateful if you don't know what those in the know now know.

You may say that. I couldn't possibly work out how to get that squiggly thing to work on my keyboard. *winks* *tries some bookmaker tic tac* *pulls up trousers*

@ paulie...YES ... but why bring him in ?
Dozens of other Asst Managers were available...but Eric has a track-record of being a "Caretaker" all over the divisions.
And disastrous all over the divisions.

He don't care, it appears ...imo. He's getting paid.
Potential of a 'Caretaker' gig. "Why Not ?"
His CV ain't going to be damaged is it?

Warnock got Manager or the Month.
And most on here were repelled by his suggestion as our Manager.

So we get a placement guy, who has failed everywhere ~ but may be cheap.
Supports the Board  ;D

Will see us out and probably break the "11-Consecutive-Losses-Record"

He's been a manager, he's been an assistant, he was available, Remi needed help, he played football in France so might be able to speak a bit of French. It's not a conspiracy, and there's nothing more to it than that.

You'll probably find that most long term assistant managers have been caretakers at one time or another.

Why is it a bad thing that he took a job where 'he's getting paid' and there was 'potential of a caretaker gig'? It's his career, not his hobby.

And what on earth has Neil Warnock got to do with anything?

@TV

Yep. I didn't include his stint at the others~ post Brucie ~ only half a match I think, or may be a full one ~~ because our saviour moved in pretty quick, to practise Relegation Theory
Sir Eckmondsworth.
McLeish ... Black... AND people want a failure like Bruce as our Manager? Jeez...
Black spent his longest stint as Asst Mngr at that dump under Brucie

It's time to look around, for a lot of us.

Too much navel gazing and "Proud History ..." imo.

If YOU - TV ....didn't know Eric was a long time servant at the dump -- what hope is there for the rest of the posters who think we are too IMPORTANT to be hurt ?

Leeds / Forest / Derby / ...ugh...Portsmouth ?

We could fit those scenarios...because we have a malignant and incompetant owner.

But this New Board...hmmm...will he listen  ??

What is this obsession with Blouse-Rejects ?

Last  ~ first... Warnock was an opportunity for us in January.
The "hate" on most villa forums against him you might have  noticed ?
Obviously you didn't

 :)  OK ?

I'm not blaming Eric for taking a job.

BUT....  Can you see a link in his career ?

Asst Coach >> Caretaker >> dumped with a pay-off ?

Did you not notice that in Eric's career ?

JEEZ ?

He was a bona-fide manager in Scotland ~ about 10/12 years ago.
Since then, he's put the cones out, run around with players and kicked a few balls at the Goalie. Coach / Asst Manager  ???

Like Bruce, I doubt he actually 'Plans' or does 'Tactics'....just put the best trainers into the action with a hope and a prayer. {Westwood would survive  :D }

He's clued into the "Football-Brain" that is Steve Bruce - currently  taking Hull downwards.
~ another bloody poster favourite new manager for us.

Sorry SV... the time for excuses, platitudes and patronising comments have long gone.
If you want to discuss ~~~ TRY FACTS !

We Are Villa and WE NEED to RETAKE OUR CLUB.

Sod to the Spin Doctors.. Sod to the Wimps..Sod to the 4x4 "visitors"

Apologies for my language...sorry.

Pffft, call that a conspiracy theory!!  Here's a real conspiracy theory - Eric Black wad brought in as Steve Bruce is going to be appointed manager at the end of the season.  Eric is just doing the ground work before his old mucka Mr. Potato Head joins him.  Eric is sending top secret messages to spud bonce up in Hull informing him of his findings and developments in B6.

Stevie is on an extended contract...JEEZ...don't anyone on this forum follow footie ?

Unless Bruce has a 'release clause'...as well as an 'image clause' retainer... :D
- he aint't coming to us...thank God! ! !

I see that posters don't want to DISCUSS

~~ the opening post.

OK.

Carry on sniping, and post wimpie remarks....

...forget having a discussion.

You say '...forget having a discussion.' but then blind us with fonts to the extent that no human eyes could begin to comprehend your visual delivery payload. It seems  impossible to comment on anything other than that for now.

Level with me ~

Eric Black is tenderising us before the managerial dream team of Trevor Francis and Gary Megson are installed.

It is so obvious.
