It's been a week to forget for Gabby Agbonlahor after an investigation was launched by the club into his holiday antics that hit the front page of The Daily Star and countless websites.

It resulted in him being dropped by the club for the defeat against Chelsea at Villa Park.

Now to add further salt to the wounds, a claret and blue icon has laid the boot in.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Andy Gray accused the striker of conning the Villa fans.

He said: "In my opinion he has conned the Villa fans for so many years.

"This season they have been absolutely pathetic, shocking.

"Villa have been a disgrace and the fans have suffered for eight months.

"As club captain you don't disappear to Dubai, even on a break.

"I earn £60k a week and if we go down, I don't really care."
