The Stewards who were looking to confiscate the "Lerner out" flag in the North Stand Lower were obviously acting under instructions given to them be club officials. The club has an uncanny ability to "if in doubt - shoot!" when it comes to these type of situations but sadly the only thing the Management Muppets actually achieve is, in fact to shoot the club in the foot to the extent that if Villa were a centipede we would probably have one leg left, such is the level of stupidity being exercised by Villa officialdom. Small minded pettiness simply aggravates supporters who feel that they are apparently "non entitled to an opinion."

As for the game, Villa plugged away but Spurs did not really have to break sweat in this game; they simply upped the pace when needed.

As for Remi Garde; seemingly a likeable man but not somebody who seems to be bringing anything out of the players at all.

The gap between the supporters and the club is  bigger then ever.

Very pleasing that "pointless Gabby" was not involved in proceedings today.

Whoever thought that this group of players could make it at Premiership Level must have been on some pretty impressive Columbian marching stilton that had fallen down the back of the fridge.

  • "I'm a believer mate" but only just.
Didn't follow the game just watched Watford
beat Arsenal and  West Ham draw with Man U at home in the cup semis. It left me wondering how difficult it can be to organise a team to go and compete in a game of football ? So many clubs seem to be able to do it yet we cannot get a result against anyone.

It must require a unique level of incompetence to achive our current level of uselessness.

Just got back.
For the first time in 30 years I didn't want to be there and that makes me incredibly sad. I only went because my brother in law Spuds fan reminded me of an 18 years old promise!

I felt huge amnosity towards every single player. Somebody shouted at Lescott getting off the coach "what car do have now".

Hey Ho Silver playing pre-match nearly brought a lump in my throat as I remembered the better times (you know when we'd have a shot on goal).

When the players names were read out - nobody cheered. They warmed up in the corner of Witton and Holte well away from the hardliners probably.

Thought Gana played well and Gil in flashes. Rudy was basically a lump. The space that Rose had in the first half was shocking.

Ayew hit a shot that looked more in anger than technique. Shame they almost made it to half time scoreless so then it was a question of how many.

Some real nasty spuds sitting behind me cheering loudly and basically taking the piss out of our club the whole game in the upper trinity which was sparsely populated.

You just carry the pain as the other Villans do, shrug in resignation and hope somehow better times lie ahead.

Wow
I thought he had a shocker

I genuinely think we may not earn another point this season.

Predictable save for the fact the goals against stopped at 2. Listened to it on 5Live Extra - seems we rallied when it was too late.

Have to say that the way the club reacted to a banner with no swear words etc on it has really pissed me off. Smacks of "pay up and shut the fuck up" which doesn't sit well with me.

When words like "mathematically possible" appear you know that slow walk to the gallows has started.

Might scrape a draw somewhere along the line. Can't see us winning.

It's been four decades since I've been to a Villa game and am amazed that security is that tight, in days past security wouldn't dare take banners away from supporters. It really is a dictatorship isn't it when the freedom to protest is removed, just shows how small minded our once great club has become.

I really don't think we will. Been trying to find odds for it online but can't find any.

Even getting in to the ground is like gaining access to North Korea.

8 stewards - coat searches - hand held metal detectors.

It's getting less and less recognisable as the place I love every week .

Joey Barton slating our full backs on MOTD, looked like Okore was more at fault playing them onside. Lescott nowhere

There must be an ingenious way to get banners in, if there were fifty of them it would be hard for security to get to all of them.
