Also some credit to the Spurs fans for starting a "Lerner out" chant and giving a load of grief to the private security clown who took the second banner.

I parked a fair few of them at King Edwards pre-match and they were very sympathetic to our predicament and sad that we have been led to this point by the owner. Went up in my estimations to be fair.

The players tried and failed but at least they tried. Calling them 'pathetic tossers' based on today's performance is a bit much.

Private Security, yes this is what we now have for 'stewards'. Bouncers and minimum wage security goons with no understanding of what is going on around them. We are no longer seen as supporters but as mere 'customers' like those at a boy band event. I've been supporting Villa since the age of eleven back in 1966 and I have never felt so alienated. I'm beginning to wonder whether Villa is  a poor performing 'brand' or a football club. Maybe it's time to start looking at the lower leagues for some supporter oriented football.

Been going to the villa since the late 60 ''s and never known such a gulf between the fans and the club and the players.

Are the coppers wearing platform boots these days?

Admittedly I had taken drink in anticipation of the afternoon's entertainment but I could swear some of them outside the away fans blocks were sporting profound platforms that would put Gary Glitter's to shame.  My brother reckons that they have James Bond type weapons secreted in them, but he is fucking mad.

I mentioned it to a chap in the concourse at half time and he said that they are equipped with small jets which would enable them to take to the air if it kicked off.  I was going to say pigs might fly but you have to be careful what you say these days, and in any case he beat me to it with some line about the flying filth which I reckon he half inched from an episode of Minder where they called the boat police the river filth.

Had to have a chuckle about the Bannergate based entertainment. Can you imagine the stewards trying to get people to take them down at the back of the Holte in the late 60's?

Today was a lot better than some of the recent debacles - No Gabby or Richards made a big difference - some of them looked like they were trying - but only in short spells. Too little too late.

The Browns must rue the day they took Remi Garde as manager. No, wait...

I was amazed with the Spurs fans and the "Lerner Out" chant and the chants against our so called stewards.
There was a punch up in the Lower North when the banner was taken away but I couldn't quite see what was being done to who and if anyone was kicked out or nicked.

Again, we worked hard and pressed until the first goal went in. It just makes me feel sick when I see players like Ayew throw his arms in the air as if not giving a fuck, he was talking to Gestede at the time when Spurs were going back for the kick off after scoring their second.

I just want/need this to be over.

Please, anyone who can, make and take banners to the Chelsea game. Stewards wont be able to take down hundreds of them. Let everyone see how pissed off we are with Lerner, Fox et all.

It hurts

Take a sheet of A3/4 paper with a single-figure salute on it.

If it was American Quarto size A4 they might take more notice of it 😉

Thought Gana was the only decent player for us, although he switched off for the first. It was never a foul and he was protesting whilst spurs were taking the free kick.

Well as he was standing on the spot of the foul and they were taking it at least  5-10 yards away, I suppose he was thinking it was ok to stand and moan it out. Everytime I have seen Villa trying to take a quick freekick from a similar distance from the foul, we always seem to be called back.

Just home. I thought we played well in some small bursts but the intervening majority of our play was disjointed and poor.
I came away with the inescapable impression that I had been watching a pre season friendly in which the score was unimportant.

I would like to add that if scientists can prove that bees cannot mathematically fly, they could also prove that it is impossible for a healthy adult male with a full set of limbs to run as slowly as Gestede.

I worked in London for a time back in the 80's. There were quite a few Spurs fans in the office and in footballing terms I always found them to be good company and fair minded compared to workmates who were supporters of other London teams.

they pulled a couple of lads out of the back of the lower north by me but didnt get the banner as it got passed back and put up the back of someones jumper

there was a heated exchange behind the stand for about ten mins and i think one of them was allowed back to his seat

just so petty and smalltime
