A day that made life worth living

God know's how many times I watched it again in the following week.

I still remember it all vividly. The pre match piss up in The Bagot, followed by the most dramatic day at Villa Park ever, then the post match party at The King Edward. It's the only time I've been on the pitch. One minute Bozzy was making that save, the next I was on the centre circle thinking "how the hell did I get here?"

When you watch it back again and the cross comes in for Dalian there is complete silence for a split second.

A collective intake of breath.

Ha! It's true.

Yea what a night, my dad took me in the North Stand that night, first and only time, and a penalty shoot out at that end! Quality.

I'd completely forgot they hit the post from a free kick in the last seconds - thanks for posting- as everybody has said - a truly unforgettable game.

Ha! It's true.

A fantastic Villa memory.
When we were good, had some players with spirit, commitment and skill.
To put our current demise into perspective, I'll be watching Tranmere play Solihull Moors next season in the National League.
