Away to Exeter & Grimsby, FA Cup 1994
« on: February 29, 2016, 11:41:04 AM »
I went to both of these which I've not seen since then, my main memory of Exeter is coming away from the other St. James' Park to learn that Kidderminster had won at St. Andrews.  Even after the long journey back I still went out into Brum late that night and still heard 'shit of the Villa' from drunken noses!

And as for Blundell Park, the double sending off of Shaun Teale & Steve Livingstone, and the celebration of Yorke's winner being no less wild than Rotterdam!
Not forgetting Grimsby's bizarre pitch invasion to try and get at us at the end.

Grimsby was a miserable hole that day. Was Alan Buckley their manager then?

Remember both very well.

The attempted assault by hundreds of Grimsby supporters was thwarted by a policeman on horseback.

Great days. More to come as we slide into the lower leagues I feel.

As we were walking back to the car after the Grimsby game some bloke offered us out.
I couldn't really understand it cos he was a Villa fan.
The netting at the away end stopped a few coins and things coming from the Grimsby massive if I remember rightly.

Exeter - was that when we won 1-0 by a penalty? If so, we were right behind the goal for that one, had a great view.
