Lost 1-0. It was part of a pre-season to Germany so assume it was at their place.

It was at a neutral venue, near a British Army camp, Paderborn IIRC?

I went to it, but only have very vague memories. I seem to remember it was played on a training pitch with no stands, but that may be the memory playing tricks.

Odd that they should play it at Paderborn.  In my time there thirty years earlier Munchencrunchen as we used to call it was the HQ of  BAOR (British Army of the Rhine) and had a very good military stadium.  If it was the Ivo Stas era I imagine it was a fixture arranged by Josef Venglos.

Along with Betty Boothroyd and Beelzebub, Borussia Mönchengladbach are my favourite words to belch speak.

I see your Berlusconi and raise you Bellflower Boulevard.

I could have raised you Benjamin Britten but that is my favourite ventriloquist name and a stray off topic too far.
