I didn't go on Saturday because I was too ill. Initially I thought "dodged a bullet there" but now I wish I had gone if only for the last 10 minutes to show the world there is more to Aston Villa than bloody Fox, bloody Hollis, bloody Lerner and all those bloody useless people masquerading as Villa players. The only time they played decently recently was when we were booing them - so lets boo them on and off until they do something to deserve a cheer (only slightly joking)...

If he had a bit of pace he'd be dangerous but as it is he's so slow he just gets caught and brushed aside. Just a bit shit really.

He does get caught and pushed off it easily, thats because he has to hold it for that long because there is absolutely no movement infront of him, As i said earlier at the begining of the second half he broke forward taking on two or three Liverpool players, this was at 0-2, as he took them on not one of our lot helped him, Gabby was stood still on the edge if the box marked by two, nobody was busting a gut to gwt forwars from midfield, nobody was running out wide to create space, they all hid and then one of the players that he had already skipped past got back and shrugged him off the ball, the other lads should not have put Gil in a poaition to be shrugged off at that point as he had done the hard work, put him in a team like Stoke with Bojan, Arnautovic etc moving and you'd see his worth, he's absolutely wasted at us.

We were shite for 12 years in the 60s and 70s. We were still Aston Villa and our class ultimately shone through.

Yesterday was as bad as anything I've seen in the 45 years I've been following villa. There are so many similarities with 1987, yesterday was our Forrest away where we also lost 6-0.

Unfortunately things are likely to get much worse over the next few weeks, the players don't have the stomach for the fight & neither do the club.

The atmosphere during the last 10-15 minutes was absolutely surreal, almost a thing of beauty. We had all surrendered to the inevitable but were making some noise nonetheless.

Absolutely. The Holte upper was rocking and it was fantastic to be a part of that.

Vertigo isn't only caused by heights, it's a symptom of many different brain related issues. If he really is suffereing from it them I don't envy him, I had it for a while a couple of years ago (never did find out what caused it) and it was horrible. Like being drunk and feeling sick ALL the time, I literally couldn't get up for a couple of weeks.

I have had labyrinthitis a few times- inner ear virus which buggers your balance and makes you nauseous - and it is surprisingly debilitating. Can't stand up, lying down is like being on a small fishing boat and can't focus so no reading. As Dave C says it is like being drunk and hungover at the same time. I wouldn't wish it on anybody, though half the team look like they have it already.

Howe would be my choice. He'd come as well

Don or Sir Geoffrey ?

Fred Dineage.  How presenter.

On a general note, we really seem to have an inferiority complex against so called 'big' teams, particularly at home.  They go to other clubs and get closed down, have no time on the ball and have to work hard for the win.  They come to Villa Park and like yesterday, they have a stroll around under no pressure and leave with a comfortable win.

If it's Eddie, then there is little or no chance of that happening.

As Coops says, it's not just heights. A friend of mine gets vertigo, it can last a day or so or even weeks at a time and they find it difficult to even walk as it is like being drunk with the room spinning etc. It's seems to be one of those things that there's no real reason you get it, and no telling when you'll get it next.

That is because over the years our managers and players have seen as a bit part player in the bigger scheme of things and our owners have done nothing to change that view and us  fans can F in think what we like!
Years ago under O'Neill I wanted to vomit when our players celebrated a 0-0 at home against Chelsea but there we are.

Does the general misunderstanding of Vertigo stem from the Hitchcock film ?

A woman I work with suffers from the condition and its very debilitating.

I get Vertigo-like symptoms when my sinus problem kicks in. It best described as suddenly being aware that my head is six foot away from the floor and doesn't seem happy about it
