Was an odd one yesterday - the atmosphere was eerily flat before the teams came out and there was never any spark or momentum. I wonder if Garde stating in the press how poor we actually played against Norwich despite winning knocked the stuffing out of the players. The lack of a performance certainly hints at something behind the scenes. I would only give Gil any credit for trying to get things moving but had no support whatsoever.

Gonna either explode or have to break from this site if I have to keep reading this utter bollocks.  He's as bad as the rest.  As are Gana and Vertout.

Yesterday for me was about the total shambles in the middle of the park more so than the defence - which says something.

We really are a shambles of a club at the moment aren't we?

That was demonstrated perfectly yesterday when players would not even make the reserves five years ago are startng players. I'm at a loss to understand why it's Gardes fault though , i suspect with better players to pick he will make a good manager. None of this team are his [unless you believe the conspiracy theory of the summer signings - I dont]. This all started a long time before he was even considered for the post.

What i find amazing is that this season has been an obvious car crash from at least the Leicester game however in all honesty its been coming for years but no one at board level gets the sack.

Over the last few seasons we have replaced our better players with not so good players, we have then replaced those players with worse players still and yet that policy, which must come from the board room, hasnt lost anyone other than the manager his job. I guess that the "transfer committee" are still all in place.

i dont really care how many shirts we sell, i do care however that i am entertained on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday and that my football team play good football and get some decent results, enough to give me hope, enough to give me reason to keep going to the games.

I know that Sherwood wasn't the greatest manager in the World but it appeared he wanted to buy in the summer to strengthen, not just to fill gaps [which he did as well] , Townsend and Adeybayor were mentioned. He came out strongly through his mates in the press to promote those players as targets, they may have worked they may not. It would have at least  given the impression that the club recognised the problems long term and possibily  to a feeling of the club trying to do sometihng rather than letting it drift.

We're drifting now now with no rudder and a bloody big hole in the boat.

As i started this post ... what a complete shambles of a club, my club ...

I though Gil was part of the problem yesterday.
He just doesn't do enough at this level to make a difference. Same for Westwood, Bacuna, Veretout, Gana, Bunn, Gestede.

The defence are probably good enough but make stupid mistakes time and again.  With Lescott and Richards having spats with the fans, Okore questioning the clubs commitment, and now the stupid car tweet from Lescott, it could point to something not right behind the scenes.
Maybe it was just a perfect storm and a 6-0 defeat was a one off, but it looked like the players had given up. That coupled with Garde bringing in unknown teenagers, it all seems like we have serious issues right now, and I think we haven't even hit rock bottom yet.

I would expect we'll see a rather sparse VP for the rest of this season, boycott or no boycott.

I think if we employed Geoffrey Boycott we'd have a sense of some discipline in the club.

I agree he is far too lightweight but with 2 or 3 others on something like the same wavelength we might create a bit more.

No doubt Gabby will be out for the rest of the season now and we will be stuck with headless chicken Scott Sinclair up front on his own for the rest of the season. We might score 2 or 3 more before the season ends.

Well they had a player down injured for about 5 minutes. We were already being mullered. That was Remis chance to rally the troops. He just sat there looking shellshocked and offered nothing to the players who stood around scratching their heads like a bunch of gormless fucking adolescents. That was the moment the penny dropped for me. Remi Garde just ain't gonna cut it in the premier league.

We condensed the game into half a pitch by allowing Liverpool to have the ball unchallenged in their own half.

Yet when they did cross the half way line not one player could be arsed to close down, it really was unforgivable A Whole team that didn't try.

I wasn't expecting much from yesterdays game but recent performances had shown a bit of spirit. What went on during the week for the players to show a true distain for AVFC

Maybe they're all sulking cos Lescott has a shiny new car and they don't.
