All gone quiet on this. Let's hope it was just someone having a laugh.

He should be off to Harvard or Yale, not the villa boardroom

Or if he's got his dad's brain, Bolton Poly.

Or columbia University and Columbia Law School and registration with the District of Columbia Bar Association...

not picking you out but the 'Lerner is so thick' line is getting really dull, he's probably not cut out to run a sports club and he made some mistakes but lets give the thick jibes a rest.

Are we still allowed to say he's not very bright?

You can say what you like, I just think calling him thick, or not bright is a bit stupid when he's clearly very well educated.

I don't disagree with your general point, I agree that calling somebody thick or stupid is a pretty lazy way of analysing their failings.

But at the same time, a good, expensive education doesn't mean that somebody ISN'T stupid.

That doesn't make him clever though.

I've encountered many people who despite being supposedly 'well educated' haven't been very bright at all. What little I know of him doesn't lead me to believe he's especially bright.

I'm not saying he's bright, I was very careful to say well educated and I did say he's probably not cut out to run a sports club largely because I don't disagree with you chris, I've met people who are very well educated and I've wondered how they managed to get their qualification.  I just don't like the default of 'I'd have done it differently so he must be stupid' or 'he's stopped spending money so calling him a thick yank is justified' (neither of those are remotely intended to be direct quotes before someone gets upset).

Lerner is a loon, we already knew that. Wish he'd fuck off.

24 carat fucking mentalist. A perfect example of what happens when you give someone with a vacuum between the ears a fortune.

I don't think he's thick, really - it was just a joke.

I do think he's an idiot when it comes to running sporting clubs, though.

What's wrong with saying he's thick, is it because it's not very nice to say so?
No one seems to have a problem saying these things about Agbonlahor even though probably no one on here knows him personally. A bit of a double standard I think.

I don't think Lerner is thick, I don't think he's very bright though. Agbonlahor on the other hand...
