I think Veretout is possibly being rested - he has looked knackered recently. Not surprising because he does put a pretty serious shift in.

Westwood's a trier, so maybe his attitude has put him in the team.  Or Veretout has a slight knock.

Veretout on the bench. That's an odd one.

Decent team but Westwood instead if Vertout.......

I think Westwood has a bit more about him physically which we will need for the early part of the game.
Can see Veretout coming on for the last 25/30 when players are tiring and his quality can shine through.

Westwood instead of Veretout? Blimey.

Maybe Richards or Bacuna into midfield?

Like the team but for Westwood

He's been really poor and I think veretout is becoming one of a main players

I was about to speculate to this end. He has looked a little leggy. Maybe if he hadn't been sat on his arse til October? He'll be back.

He was superb against palace and good against Leicester.

I assume Veretout has a knock, because otherwise his omission is baffling.

Very poor midfield, we need a couple of new ones in the summer too. Get the first goal and I think we'll get the win, otherwise a very tough afternoon.

At the risk being banned, I apologise to the fragile and the polite for not being eloquent, uncooth, a bit chavvy or as we say down here, 'bogan' but please play with passion for 90 minutes Aston Villa and royally fuck this ugly football team right in the fucking arse to make them shit themselves about relegation and for us to maybe think otherwise.

Post of the Day (so far).

Personally I think the use of the word "fuck" in this context is totally justified and if anything not used enough. Fuck the Albion.

Let's hope we do regardless of of how it affects the rest of the season - sadly we know that this is their cup final - they have already got the DVD in preparation. If we fail to win the open top bus tour of Smethwick will go round and round for weeks.

Let's hope we use this game as a springboard for our continued Premier League status,  as we did last season in the home game and cup tie.

#AVFC team v #WBA: Bunn, Richards, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho, Bacuna, Gana, Westwood, Gil, Ayew, Kozak. #WBAAVL

Interesting.  Unless he feels he is in need of a rest or is carrying an injury, the Bacuna for Veretout swap seems an odd one.
