And the passenger Westwood is out for 1 off 26 balls, exactly the same as in the first innings. If he is not dropped for the next championship match he never will be

I've a feeling you'll be saying similar next season in the match thread.

Westwood out for the grand total of 1!  Brown needs to be harder and drop him. Sorry, but I'm beginning to have my doubts over Brown. Team seems to be stagnating. Look at Giles at Lancs - wish Ashley was back at the Bears!

I think in cricket you have to give batsmen a chance to bat themselves back into form, Westwood is probably very near the end of his window to sort things before he gets dropped but I'm glad they give people a chance like this.  In much the same way with international cricket I think dropping a batsman after 1 series is harsh unless they're clearly out of their depth rather than struggling for form.

Anyone waiting for Westwood to come back into form, will be waiting a long time, he never showed any form in the first place. We must be able to do better, won't be challenging for the league with passengers, Yorks n others don't carry any, even when they have half their team on International duty.

1 - 19 - 7 - 16 - 34 -17 - 2 - 0 - 4 - 3 - 4* - 1 - 1

13 innings, 109 runs at an average of 9.083. This is at a time when we are seeing massive totals racked up on batsmen friendly wickets

I don't watch enough county cricket to have an opinion either way, I just have a general principle that once you pick a batsman you have to give him around 10-12 innings before making a decision to replace him.  Once you take everything into account that could be 5-6 mistakes, a few good deliveries and a couple of good bits of fielding which is enough to make a decision on.
