Start delayed at Hampshire due to rain. Good.

Why pick an inexperienced player (2nd choice wicketkeeper) as an opener in such an important match? Ateeq Javid, Porterfield or Evans would've been a better bet. Or Chopra should've been kept on!

Fair play to Yorkshire, couldn't see them having a lead when they were 97/4, excellent battling.

The middle and lower order have rescued them several times this season but this has been a great effort.

I like Bresnan - wasn't quite good enough at the top level (there is no disgrace in that) but a marvellous county player and his 100 has been a really gutsy effort. He seems one of the good guys.

I make it that if Yorkshire get 350 before the 110 over mark then they're a point ahead of Somerset, meaning that Somerset would have to hope for a draw to have a chance of winning the Championship.

Westwood gone for 34 in the same way as Mellor. He had quite a lot of luck but showed his battling qualities. 74/2. They are starting at 1240 at Hants. The equinox is at 1523.

I don't think that's all that fair, he was 3rd seamer in a 4man attack too often and he's really not the right type of bowler for that.  A strike bowler and him for the steady 4th seamer would've been fine.  Time is gone now and Woakes is doing that role better than he could've but I don't think he let England down at all, just wasn't ever going t take the number of wickets the selection demanded of him.

110/3 lead 177

Yorkshire 333/8 93.5
Somerset 313/5 lead 540

No, you said he wasn't quite good enough at the highest level, which means pretty much the same thing, just being nicer about it.

No it doesn't - letting England down would mean he didn't perform to his ability, or doing daft stuff.

Time for Bell to deliver a decent score! Another 130 runs and put them in?
