Win for us. First one I have predicted all season. I also predict another parking ticket because I always get one in that benighted hole of a city. Those of you going by car, the first BP petrol station on the left on the A11 is where Alan Partridge was filmed. Mention it to the manager it makes him go ape shit.

Do you mean the 2nd series set in the petrol station or the first season where he goes to buy some windscreen wiper fluid?

Maybe, now it's really looking too late, we will actually win this. I honestly hardly care about us staying up any more, I'm resigned to doom - I just want to celebrate some fucking wins once in a while.

A cathartic, kickstarter of an away win.

The positive second half's against Newcastle and Wham need to be translated into a win here.

A decent striker and we'd have thrashed West Ham yesterday. Thought we played really well, it's just frustrating we couldn't get the goals our display deserved.
Open the chequebook next month and we'll have a fighting chance of staying up.

Only two days away*, so we might as well run this alongside the West Ham post-match thread.

(* and I'm already part way to Norwich)

it'll be interesting to see if anyone gets a rest for the game.

Maybe Clark will come in for Lescott

Clark for Lescott - are you joking? Lescott was solid yesterday.

Lescott's looked a lot more settled the last few games. The extra midfielder in there may have helped though.

Why can't they play from the start like the last two matches second halves? Rene needs to kick them up the ar*e in the pre game dressing room, plus of course, find someone as well as Ayew who can score a goal or two.

It's not as easy as just kicking players in the arse though is it? Rene, or Remi as I like to call him has got them from not playing well at all for a long time to progressively improving for longer stretches. The goal just before HT was a killer because I'm confident given how we were playing overall we would have won the game in the second half. And especially if we had a proper forward or two in the squad. Gestede did ok yesterday but he should be sub and not a starter. Throw in a Loic Remy or Charlie Austin then we might give ourselves a much better chance.

Dreadful place full of religious relics and not a toolmaker or a sheet metal worker amongst them.

Clampy, I stumbled upon them shooting Partridge when I was coming back from Yarmouth races. It was the series with the Geordie who did machine gun impressions. I don't know if that was 1 or 2.
