I know quite a few Newcastle supporters and they aren't 'up for it' at all.
Why not, any idea?

They've been watching Newcastle for too many years. They only reason they take any notice of Villa is because I support them basically!

My fear is that their forwards are actually half decent and can score goals. We only have 1 that looks lively enough to cause problems. Something that desperately needs to change in January.

Jorden Ayew and if Adama Traore has a go, knows when to run and when to pass, then they could cause trouble.

And if they do play a tall forward, give Kozak a go (doubt it tho), rather than put Gestade anywhere near the team bus.

As for the midfield and defense....

I actually think a back 4 of Cissokho, Lescott, Okore, Richards is fairly stableand could be ok, it is the holding midfielder to rally the troops we are missing then. A decent sized mobile centre forward that can hold the ball and a man to play wide right/ left with Ayew are just as important though. Trouble is Sinclair and Gestede lose the damn thing so easily we are always on the back foot

Quite, we do have options going forwards (and I don't mean Gabby and N'Zog), Adama, Kozak, Gil, Grealish could all come in and offer something different to Gestede and Sinclair, but in midfield and defence we're really struggling for options.  I'm no fan of either Westwood or Sanchez, but who else could play there, Lyden, Calder, Gardner, Ilori, Richards?  I don't really fancy any of them are ready yet or good enough to play there.

Louise Taylor, Guardian's Newcastle United expert, really should stick to writing/cheerleading about them. No insight about us, just lazily pasted inaccurate crap: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/dec/18/newcastle-aston-villa-transfer-tactics-remi-garde

The ones I know are worried that they are encountering a false dawn and don't want tomorrow to be the time they come down to earth with a bump.
They obviously haven't seen us just lately.

Agree, but also think we could do with Grealish or Gil just off a forward to pick the passes and put Ayew and Traore in.  We've go to play Gil further up the field.

Newcastle have won 2 on the spin.
We're fucking horrendous.
It all points one way...

Villa win. We have to win at some point...surely...don't we?
I know our record against them is largely tosh, but the law of football dictates that Newcastle simply will not win this game. There's no way in hell they're going to win three on the bounce. You can take that to the bank.

We will win this one.
But will we build on a win?
Probably not.

Still.
Newcastle 0- Aston Villa 1. Ayew.

We will not keep a clean sheet. Try again.

1-2.
And since we don't score many goals we'll need them to score an own goal.

Can not see anything other than another defeat. The barcodes i feel will be far more up for it than our lot 3-1
