I said on Sunday that I'd never seen a team look so low on confidence. Therefore the only way to kickstart our season is likely to be making several changes to the starting line up and trying something new. I'd go

Bunn
Richards Okore Clark Kinsella
Veretout Gana Gardner
Gill
Adama Ayew

i will give you 100 quid if that team starts

Much as it pains me this is spot on, I suppose laughing at their demise was going to bite us on the arse one day.

Quote:'There are no excuses for Newcastle on Saturday - they're better than 'woeful' Aston Villa".

So what are we going to do? Stand up you sad sacks and fight for the cause! However in reality we will just roll over easy as, this just sickens me and tells me these clowns have no testicular fortitude and are just happy with their mega paydays under the pretense of being top professional footballers. As for Garde well!! .....who knows, I''m just at a loss on how things have got this bad. Just believe and go and win

Well, we are due aren't we?

Either that, or a nil-nil with three red cards given out in an everybody loses type atmosphere.

However I'll go with us to win...somehow.

I've had a feeling we'll win this. No idea why, apart from the fact that I'm staying with a friend of mine for the weekend who is a big Newcastle fan.  I'll be on the first row of the upper tier on the away end - so might actually get to see something.

Anyway,

                                      Guzan

                        Ilori Richards Okore Lescott

              Adama Veretout Sanchez Gardner Grealish

                                      Ayew

Keep it tight, and look to frustrate them.   2-1 Villa.

4-1 Newcastle, relegation,  new manager, playoffs and promotion.

Yes I know, I'm being optimistic about the promotion but you never know ;-)

Gardner interesting choice not sure if he has even been on the bench this season, in the league anyway. Would be brilliant if he did eventually fulfil his potential, or at least make a start.

An away win against the odds to breathe new life in to our season and provide momentum for a surge of optimism and an up-and-at-'em crack at West Ham on Boxing Day.  2-1 Villa, as the St James's crowd look on in disbelief.

No realistic alternative to Guzan, but at the back Hutton has to go after too many individual errors.  In comes Richards at RB, with Okore and Clark as the CB pairing and Lescott filling in at LB.

Gana will get his chin off his chest, Sanchez will get rid of that mask and return to form, and Veretout will continue his improvement.

Up front, no place for either of the two duds, Gabby and Gestede.  In comes Ayew to lead the line, supported by our most creative player Gil and the returning boy wonder, Grealish.

Adama Traore to come off the bench with plenty of time in the second half to make an impact.

They always beat us at St James regardless of how well either team has been playing whether it was the rampant Andy Cole/Beardsley partnership of the early 90s or the last 2-3 visits where both sides have been dreadful but they've still managed to grab a goal against us. Cant see anything other than more misery this weekend. 0-2

Guys this season is completely done, there is absolutely no way back whatsoever . The point situation is utterly grim but the lack of belief, quality and fight in the team is what will seal our fate. We need to pray we get bought by a chairman that actually wants to be here so the slide goes no further than The Championship.

Lescott - no thanks. I'd rather play the kid. Gil and Grealish together. No thanks.

Other than that you are about as good as we can get.

Does anybody know if Bunn is any good?

Good thinking from both.
Don't think he'll drop Hutton...he is a key factor going forward - just a bit shit at it.
The Richards RB/CB situation could be interesting.

I think we'll nick it.
(I think this every week! It's the hope that kills you!)

Is Crespo still on our books? Wasn't he described as a utility defender who could cover any position in the back line? Perhaps worth a shot at LB or RB.
