I fancy us more against Norwich and Sunderland than I do on Saturday.

I love the away games but I've got to be honest, I'm glad I'm not going at the weekedn. Anyone who's making the effort to go up there a week before Christmas when it's on the telly box given the way things are going deserves the greatest of respect. Well done and fair play.

Agree you wouldn't catch me doing that. 7.30 finish - arrive home what time? Midnight if your lucky?

We will lose. Simple as.
Our players have no backbone, spirit, speed or ability, Newcastle have much more than us, even thought they are poor.
To win we will have to stand up and be counted against the crowd, our fragile, slow players won't know what's hit them.
A heavy defeat and cue more laughter.

As someone from the same era as Oscar, I fear his summation of many of our current players could well be an accurate assessment and forecast of the result.

3-0 home win.

We look defeated already to me - no spine or fight. And every time I see Lescott bang on about how the players know these are big games, I piss myself laughing.

We deserve the media hammering - it's all self enduced

I do wonder what kind of thought goes into Sky's selection of live games, as Newcastle's last three league games will all been shown live on Sky, plus of course we were on live only last Sunday.

If we take Sunday's second half performance and build on that I think we have a decent chance. If we revert back to playing like we did in the first half we have no chance.

a must win in my opinion....sadly 2/3 nil to them and cue much piss taking from the Newcastle fans down here that only started to "support" them around the time they spectacularly blew a 12 point lead at the top of the table and Keegan's hilarious meltdown...oh and at least they will keep their shirts on.

and just to let you know that it is not just us Villa fans suffering as I was speaking to 92yr old QPR fan Fred in the pub and he hopes and prays we get ourselves out of it....whenever I bump into him down the local he always loves to chat old time football and says what a great club the Villa(his words) are.

A stoic single goal victory for us. A cat's bum mouth post match analysis for Alan Shearer.

4-0 to us

We will start with Traore who will murder their LB , we will score early they will have a player sent off and finish the half 3-0 down.Second half damage limitation for them but we will score again late ...

Yes I am crazy

Richards at RB, Clark at LB, no Gestede, Ayew up front, Traore on the right. Midfield, no effing idea.

2-0 Them. I don't think we've won in the league there for 10 years.

I just don't see how we are going to score any goals. Jushede up top and we're fucked, Ayew is better on the wing, him up front doesn't work at all for me.

It's Kozak with Adama and Ayew either side for me. Gil and Grealish get a lot of praise but I don't see them doing anything worthy of such high regard, so I'm not too bothered which other three midfielders play.

2-0 Newcastle. Same script as usual with errors etc and one particulary terrible half.

If we can avoid gifting them a goal within the first 20 minutes, I think we have a great chance of winning. It won't take much for the crowd to turn and I can see Ayew having some luck against the Geordie defence. Traore would terrify them  :) ...if he's on the field.

1-0 to the Villa.
