would anyone take a Wigan-esque season? Win the FA Cup despite going down.

The return of the annual dilemma!

Yes but last season we had a great day at Wembley (the semi) and stayed up - can we have that again?

No chance. I'd love to win the FA Cup but the league is our bread and butter. We have to stay in this league.

Yes I would. But, seeing as we currently have a side incapable of knocking the skin off a rice pudding, I can't see us going past the first non-shit side we come up against.

yep, we're not competing in this league and haven't done so for many years now.

personally, i'm looking forward to the championship.

edit: that's my 1957th post! i'll stick a tenner on us to the 'double'...

I think the ramifications of relegation are so great that there is no compensation or a smoother that I would consider.

Anyway we have no change of  reaching the 6th round nevermind Wembley.

I think I'd rather be kicked repeatedly in the face than contemplate this gormless playground hypothetical for another season. The annual win cup/relegation farrago to clarify.

Maybe we could update it to "would you rather get relegated or have another three months* of arguments about whether it would be better to get relegated and win the cup rather than staying up and not"?

*I'm being optimistic
