I didn't know that. I support them from my days sailing from there and the heady days of a young bloke called Lawrie McMenemy being the manager.

The stadium is actually in Cleethorpes. We went there in the 3rd(?) round years ago. I think Shaun Teale scored the winner(?). I DO remember their fans wanging coins at us at the final whistle. All 1ps and 2ps of course. Tight Northern swines.

Grimsby is a dreadful place to go to. The locals are up there with Middlesbrough as the least welcoming. And that includes Millwall.

The Salford ground is not great. Giggsy et al are clearly big fans of vintage retro plumbing because the toilets should be in the V & A.

Also: no pubs anywhere near, no public transport, nowhere to park. Apart from that it's wonderful

No. As much as I'd love us to win the FA Cup to complete my trophy cabinet, the financial rewards next season are far too important to the future of the club.
