Southampton vs Aston Villa Pre-Match Thread
« on: December 01, 2015, 01:25:33 PM »
Here we go again.

We're owed a big performance after the last two appearances down there, and Christ do we need one. Just rang the ticket office and we've got about 50 tickets left of our 1,707 allocation so at least we'll have a fairly decent backing.

I want to say we'll finally come good and get a suprise win but I've been saying that for weeks.

I'd start the same team as Watford but with Gestede instead of Ayew. We would have won that otherwise.

We'll lose. We'll either be unlucky or absolutely rubbish. Or a combination of the two. Meh

I'm not sure I'd be dropping Ayew just as he's hitting some form and scoring. I'd start Adama and find a place for Kozak somewhere in the 16 though.

Strangely looking forward to it, despite how naff we've been.

Them 3 Us 1

I keep predicting wins so time for some reverse psychology.

Ayew looks a good player, so no idea why he'd be dropped for Gestede.

What's that you say, your team not playing well, manager under pressure, need a lift, need 3 points?  Call for Aston Villa, guaranteed to gift you the 3 points you need. Aston Villa for all your PL woes.  (3 points available in both home or away colours)

They've lost a couple of games recently, seem to be in a bit of a rut with the way they're playing and they also have a game mid-week.

Seminal moment for us. A very hard fought 1-0 to give us hope in the gloom.

All they need is a forward who hasn't scored in months to score the winner against us.

Just cannot believe that 30% think we won't lose. I don't know how many matches various people attend but, having been to every home match this season, I see no reason at all for the optimism.

Our defence is very dodgy, in midfield we are very weak and keep giving the ball away as much as we find our own players and, up front, totally toothless. Ayew now looking a lot better but, in my humble opinion, not a natural goalscorer but, will chip in with the odd one.

I hope to God that both Ayew and the rest of the team prove me totally wrong and, me to be forced to eat humble pie but, not holding my breath.

My team would be:-

                                                                                     Guzan

                      Richards          Okore                                                   Clark               Crespo

                                                                                     Sanchez

                                   Traore                                        Veretout                           Gana

                                                                                       Gil

                                                                                       Ayew

Subs: Bunn, Hutton, Sinclair, Bacuna & Kozak
