Was good for Leicester about 300 years ago.

Embarrassed when he signed for us.
Seeing him play confirmed why.

Utter shit. The turning point for me was the Vidic decision, not the signing of Heskey.

He really wasn't very good.
Cult hero? No.

Playing 4-3-3 playing well gabby Milner and Ashley playing out there skin. So what do you do ? Go out a buy a big lummox of a centre forward and play 4-4-2. anyone else would of bought a mobile goal scorer and kept it 4-3-3.
But not if your mon one signing that totally fucked us up

A bad signing at the wrong time.  Only Cascarino's signing was more ill-judged.

Strike rate of one in ten. For a centre forward that's shocking.

1 in 10? For who?

It’s not far off.
For us: 110 appearances (71 starts, 39 as sub) 14 goals. That's league & cup.
The most astonishing stat is that he completed 90 minutes on 30 occasions.

A cult hero for me would be a player whose effort and endeavour resulted in performances that were greater than the sum of their parts, someone like Eamonn Deacy or Ian Ormondroyd or Ian Taylor. Heskey was basically the opposite of this.

We could start a whole "lovely bloke but shit at his job" thread - McLeish and Ivanhoe for starters - the fact he was widely called "the tumbling bear" still makes me laugh and then weep to this day...

Best moment was the semi-final against Blackburn when they took the piss out of him when he cam on; he scored and then we took the piss (I know some will disagree but it says it all really)

I'd have Marlon Harewood over Emule, any day of the week.

So just what was it that all those England Managers saw in him?

(If that question in any way supports MON I apologise unreservedly)

He made every fellow striker he played with look fantastic in comparison.
