May have been mentioned on this thread - or elsewhere earlier - but I thought it significant that Garde said in his interview that HE had tried to get players in, and THE CLUB had tried also.
I take that to mean he has tried his own links and got nowhere - and the player recruitment committee has tried and also got nowhere.
Makes me think that the latter didn't put themselves out too much or back Garde in his pursuits.

I think the assumption largely comes from the fact that none of us could blame the poor bastard in the slightest if he walked out. By May he's going to look as weathered and haggard as Keith Fucking Richards.
