I hear John terry is up for sale.
Not necessarily him, but there could be all sorts up for grabs tomorrow.
Yes once Newcastle complete the signing of Messi and Ronaldo it will leave the field clear for us to go for Neymar and Benzema.

I just think Lerner is trying to pay out as little as possible as he bides his time for a buyer. For all the written off loans, the fact is there have been titanic TV deals before the one coming up, and we've practically spent peanuts. I'm convinced there won't be huge amounts spent on a rebuild because it's not going to be worth his while.
Were a rapidly depreciating asset that he holds no interest in. For his and our sakes he needs to move us on and just take the financial hit. It's our only way back, otherwise we'll continue in the downward spiral of cost cutting we've been locked in.

You're completely right; however, the buyer, as ever, needs to be the right one. The dilemma would be, do we want to stay as a Lerner asset until another billionaire comes along, or would an enthustastic but relatively cash-strapped buyer be better?
I'll take anyone who is enthusiastic and engaged over the current brain donor owner...

It takes more than enthusiastic and engaged.  It takes some intelligence and thought behind it to.

It was blind, reckless, enthusiasm that sowed the seeds for the last 5 years.  It's not that we've been badly run for 5 years, we've been badly run for nigh on ten. It was just the shiny sparkle of burning £50 notes distracted everyone until Lerner realised he probably shouldn't burn quite so many so quickly.
I agree entirely. Someone with less wealth than Lerner who is fully committed, has a plan that is executed correctly, employs the right people in the right roles, I'll welcome with open arms. If such an individual was as wealthy our wealthier than the current incumbent, I'd be in dreamland, but that's not going to happen is it? I'll take competent over Mr stupid every time.

Sunderland want Micah Richards but we've rejected the initial offer.

The people running the place really are dumb. He's shit, why are we keeping him?

Selling to the one team that's relatively close to us would send out even more signals of giving up which Fox would be scared to do regardless of Garde's plans for Richards.

Anyway, like Veretout with Leicester, Richards had the chance to join Sunderland in the summer but turned them down. He can put up with the next four months of misery like the rest of us.

Fair point Dave, he was good for the final few months of that season.  Never quite worked out what happened to him after that though.

Him and pretty much the entire team.

Well that's true!  I remember going to our annual pre season game at Bescot after Lambert's first season and it was clear then that Sylla had fallen out of favour.  He was hardly seen after that.

Think we'll try again for the Croatian keeper in the summer...he might have played a few friendlies for Croatia before the euros or we can send a Brummie girl over there for him to get to know...(didn't Bozzie do that when he moved to England?)

Just get a new striker in tomorrow please.

I realise it is dire but there is still time.

I don't care who is in for him, I'd have him gone as quickly as possible.

There's no bigger signal of giving up than signing no one, we might as well get the shit off the books too.

I'm fairly confident we'd catch them quicker if he was playing for them.
