According to twitter we're signing a young French player called Samy Kehli for 2m Euros tomorrow...

Second division of a poor league, has only played 250 minutes this season, costs bugger all. Sounds believable.

Riyad Mahrez from Leicester was from the second division of the French league, cost bugger all and had only scored 6 goals in 3 years.

It doesn't necessarily mean that he's shit. Probably, I'll grant you, but not definitely.

To balance it out, Yacouba Sylla was bought from the French 2nd Division.

And helped keep us up. At the end of his first season he looked a bargain.

Fair point Dave, he was good for the final few months of that season.  Never quite worked out what happened to him after that though.

Hardly surprising when replaced by the wonderful Richardson and Cole. Stella wasn't as bad as some made out but once Lambert went for the experience of the two named, oh and Ashley Fucking Useless Twat Westwood, he was bombed out.

Not a sniff of anything tomorrow.

15 more games of watching our attack.

However you look at it Sylla was shit. We just got lucky to have found a gem in Benteke to keep us afloat for 3 seasons. As soon as Benteke got injured the goals stopped & we then replaced him with Rudy Gestede

Surely Sky will be standing Pete Colley down for tomorrow. Or at least sending him to Albion's training ground for the day.

Oh well, he's never 28 anyway, looks like he could be Joleon Lescott's dad.

Another kick in the balls. But I can imagine many of our targets said exactly the same thing. Ours appears a hopeless cause and players just don't want to be a part of it.

We are the footballing equivalent of a mahoosive bird with BO filling her face in Mr Egg at 3am on a Sunday morning openly discussing her back catalogue of sexually transmitted diseases.

The most common quote I've seen this window thus far is "Villa fail to..", sums up the season nicely I would say.

I just think Lerner is trying to pay out as little as possible as he bides his time for a buyer. For all the written off loans, the fact is there have been titanic TV deals before the one coming up, and we've practically spent peanuts. I'm convinced there won't be huge amounts spent on a rebuild because it's not going to be worth his while.
Were a rapidly depreciating asset that he holds no interest in. For his and our sakes he needs to move us on and just take the financial hit. It's our only way back, otherwise we'll continue in the downward spiral of cost cutting we've been locked in.

You're completely right; however, the buyer, as ever, needs to be the right one. The dilemma would be, do we want to stay as a Lerner asset until another billionaire comes along, or would an enthustastic but relatively cash-strapped buyer be better?
I'll take anyone who is enthusiastic and engaged over the current brain donor owner...

I'd quite like us to buy somebody.

Yes. Me too.

Is this still the Transfer Thread ?

Or the bash Lerner/Board/Garde/Players/Fans Thread ?
