What vicious fans are those?

In my experience that's how some of the wider public are beginning to perceive us. They see stupid articles about booing players, arguments with players, abuse as they get on and off the coach, stealing wheel chairs, fans are delusional and all the rest and see us as a very toxic club right now.
The words 'some' and 'beginning' makes me think you are making it up.

Ehh?

The perception that we are vicious fans is all part of the lazy, fabricated journalism and if you buy into it and believe it about your fellow fans, the lazy, lying media wins again.  I come on Heroes and Villains a lot because I find the vast majority of content reasonable, well put and mutually respectful, not vicious or malevolent in any way.

I don't buy this "vicious fans" thing for a second.

The way I think people see us is with a huge amount of sympathy for the last five years.

I've seen very little sympathy towards us from anyone. People revel in it when a big club falls down the pan.

Newcastle make a £21m bid for Berahino.....

They'll surely never sell to a club only a few points below them at this stage of the season.

I think you are misunderstanding me. Why would I think Villa fans are vicious, boo boys or the usual one, fickle? I've spent my entire life following the club and being around fellow Villa fans. Apart from my family I would say they are my life's passion. The media love perpetuating certain myths about us and it's all going towards the horrible image that surrounds us at the moment of being a very undesirable club.

They might be completely different when in 'mob rule' mode on the terraces but all the fans I have actually spoken to before/after in the pubs have been very sympathetic of our fan's plight.

It's being reported that we have reneged on a deal to loan Debuchy as we want Arsenal to reduce the loan fee.

If we are not going to try harder to get the players we really need them I can't see what the point is in getting a full back on loan until the end of the season. It doesn't really benefit us significantly and we'd only be doing it to help him get to the Euros.

What an utterly shit window this has been.

I'm sure Berahino will be on twitter soon to let everyone know what's happened.

With every respect to you aj2 I do not give a shit about what we are seen to be, I only care about what we are.  I deal in what I know, not what I am told.  Just as you do, I love the club, just as my mother and my grandfather did and my sons and my grandsons do.

The ten or twenty around us on the Holte are collectively my best friends.  I have a number of good friends on H and V.  Use a word like vicious about my friends and I will call it a lie, whether it comes from a troll or James Nursey.

Not surprised. £65k a week, £1.5m fee for 13 games and a recall option. (Might be 14 is registered in time) err, shit deal.

Newcastle are gambling massively if that deal goes through.  Nearly £50m in fees and goodness knows how much on wages in the past couple of weeks.

But outside appearance will matter when it comes to signing players, as well as money. Unfortunately in this day and age of football image matters. Ours right now is hardly positive and I can't see another 4 months of losses helping.
